Just like he doubled Machida right? If you honestly think Rashad can beat Shogun then you're in the wrong sport. He wont get him down and if he does Shogun will pop right back up, he'll kick the shit out of his legs and ribs which will prevent take downs plus he'll have to go 25 minutes without getting hit by Shogun...I'll be here to welcome you to reality when Rashad gets KO'd

Rashad is not that much stupid to think that put shogun down is the best option.. just one way to see Rashad winning this fight, maybe in another life born again with better skills...

i would put the ground of shogun in a top 5 fighters in the world, you just have no idea about what u said!!!

anyways.. as me u're here to learn more about this great sport..

Lets give shogun powers he doesnt actually have like machidas evasive skills. Shogun will fly around the ring and use his eye lasers to prevent takedowns.

Why the hell do people keep bringing up machida when they say shogun is going to win? That's sooooo stupid, the two fighters have NOTHING in common.

Shogun by KO, SHogun is quick enough to catch Evans, Shogun has good enough ground to bring the fight to the feet and Shogun is just way better than Gayshad

You're once again underestimating Rashad Evans as a fighter. Shogun is one of my favorite fighters, but If Rashad fights Shogun the way he fought Rampage, it will be a longgggg night for Shogun. Don't count Rashad Evans out.

Yea, Rashad had an easy time against Rampage because he doesn't throw kicks, and the same with thiago silva. But he'll lose to shogun like he did to machida and he even looked uncomfortable against forest up until he beat him because of the kicks.

I'm sure Rashad is training extra hard on catching the kicks. And if u watch closely Rashad counters kicks very good. Caught Forrest after a threw kicks and ended up catching the kick and countering. He also countered T. Silva's body kick in the third round with a big right

Shogun is bigger, stronger, faster and has better bjj and more technical striking and punching power. Rashad might take him down, but he couldn't keep Thiago Silva down when he took him down, and it will be the same story with Shogun. If he tries to win with takedowns, Shogun will destroy his legs with kicks, and eventually overwhelm him with punches and knees. Shogun by KO.

Just MMA Ignorance , Shogun was not even considered in the top rankings by most of you until he beat Macida wich means that you guys dont know MMA.

Difference in styles and to much difference in speed and power. Machida could have just as easily won the fight against shogun and then Shogun would be considered a weak fighter again.

Remember it takes only 1 punch in the sport of MMA thats why these polls are not considered by the top sites that do these kinds of polls.

Very true, one of my favorite fighters and it turned out how I knew it would. I think in order to win the fight Shogun has to come out with the same fast passed agressive style like he used against machida. I would have rather seen rashad vs machida 2

your right people shouldn't underestimate rashad but shogun will finish rashad like a sharp active rampage would have. machida broke evans in the striking department ok he's on his way back up but this fight was no different to the T.silva fight rashad mixed the stand up and wrestling but got rocked in the 3rd and was happy with the decision because thats his game plan now. and thats why he is becoming more unpopular shogun will struggle with rashads wrestling but over 5 rounds shogun will get 1 opportunity to finish the fight and unlike t.silva and ramoage before him the will take it

    @Stickin

That match last night didn't show a sport evolving. If anything its taking a step back. A lot of fans want to see striking. Yes I know its only one aspect to MMA but its an exciting one. Last night we saw Rashad rock Rampage and Rampage rock Rashad. I bet you were on the edge of your seat for that. The rest of the match was a snore. The fact that you want to defend the wrestling win is just as bad as us who want to see the striking. Yea MMA allows for all disciplines but I rather see just striking rather than just wrestling. An example I used in another post was GSP. He wrestled Hardy to death but he was constantly looking for a finish. Rashad didn't do that. Looking for a decision win is smart for wrestlers and bs for the fans.

But see thats where you're wrong.... I am not defending a "wrestling win!" He obviously did both!! You even just said that he rocked Rampage!! That wasnt the only punch!! He was punching him throughout the entire fight!! He was punching him against the cage..... He punched the whole fight!! He just moved in and out!! I think its just sad.... So you are basically saying they shouldnt engage? You should just stop it already man. Its MMA.... You are entitled to your opinion, but you are letting your emotions make it seem like you are not a fan of MMA......

Shogun has two great takedown defenses......left knee and right knee.

Ninja is right. Even if he gets taken down, he has a great ground game and will strike from the guard and just get back up.

To be honest with you I knew deep down that the Rampage v Rashad fight would go down like that - Even though I think it sucks but it is clever when you are are great wrestler and the man standing in front of you is a KO machine he did it against Thiago and he did it again against Rampage - I have got to go with Shogun in this fight tho cuz if you have the ability to stop Rashad getting close to you and you have great stand up and technique - LIKE MACHIDA - you have a pretty good chance you will destroy Rashad - Shogun defiently has this ability even when shogun gets took down he is really good a getting back to his feet e.g. in the 2nd Machida he was taken down twice and still managed the KO in the 1st round - So Im Going with Shogun in this 1.

    1. Rashad v Shogun

    2. Rampage V Machida

    3. Lil Nog v Forrest

    4. Jason Brilz v Thiago

Thats how I see the next top fights looking in the LHW division.

Brilz looked great last night question marks over Lil Nog stand up he looks to easy to hit for me - I think a heavy handed fighter would kill him someone like Thiago who is a KO machine and also has a BJJ Black Belt so he wont panic with Lil Nog on top of him.

So this means I gotta look at a bunch of mind-numbing, senseless, irrational rambling for months now about Rashad. I am just gonna give some of you the benefit of the doubt and say that you don't really believe the things you are saying and rather you are just upset one of your favorite fighters lost. Otherwise, I have to realize that most of you aren't really even fans off MMA..... What Rashad did was no where NEAR what GSP, Koscheck, and others do. He threw a lot more than they do, landed more, and NEVER went to the ground with Rampage. Rampage had plenty of time to prepare and came in totally unequipped to handle Evans.....THATS IT!! Sounds to me like you guys would be happier with boxing! If you are looking for some bare-knuckle brawling then sorry to tell you MMA has evolved waaayyy past that. Use your god given sense please!! Would you expect Rampage to go in and grapple with a submission artist? Why would he? I mean just stop it, you guys are to much......Its MMA!!

I've always thought that if a guy can take u down & u cant stop him oh well learn how 2 deal wid it or dats ur handi-cap! thats a MMA skill that hes got over you, the same way if u've blatantly got knockout power & ur opponent dont hes not gonna stand wid u and bang! if he did it would b dumb on his part & wen he gets KO'd every1 will say so just look at bj penn vs sean sherk. Rashad had the right game plan-do everything except stand toe 2 toe wid him & in my opinion evans done dat well but he still talks shit coz he was talking bout KOing rampage but was shook to just bang wid him & rightly so coz Rampage would of took his head of!!!

Next time i hope rampage comes better equipped, wouldn't mind seeing him go 4 some takedowns & work some ground & pound

First of all, Rampage has no ground skills, second thing Rashad was not able to complete must of the takedowns attemps, Rua hs nasty ground game, If Rashad takes him down, he is goign to sweep him and Rashad is going to end up on his back, and then you can ask Machida how that goes... if Rashad is not able to get him down and tries to press him against the cage for 25 minutes Rashad is goign to find himself in a nasty guillotine choke or in Muay thay clinch where his is not goign to be able to scape, and if he tries his luck on his feet he is goign to get murder...

your right and wrong P4P. first rampage takedown D is better than rua's second ruas takedown defence is average. BUT he gets back to his feet and sweeps very very well. over 5 rounds rua will get at least 1 chance to take him out just like t.silva and rampage. i don't see a submission win doe i see another vicious knock out for rua.

Yea..it's clear rampage has no groundskills, he's only been submitted once out of the 39 times he fought. but 1 out of 39 is a really high score to be fair, and we all know rampage can't wrestle to save his life...shogun is clearly a much better wrestler.

On the other hand, shogun has only one submission out of his 23 fights, but like i just said, ONE TIME IS HUUUUGE! And it was a sub against crazy kevin randleman and we all know he's more of a ground wizard than rashad could ever be.

Either one of them could pull out a win. I think Shogun is a slightly better fighter and Rashad has been rocked or KOd three fights in a row so a KO from Shogun is possible but I have a feeling that Rashad will win, lose the belt to the next guy and then the belt will just continue to change hands. The top guys st LHW are so closely matched that anyone could beat anyone. Rampage was a couple punches from a ref stoppage last night. If the wind was blowing at a slightly different angle we might be talking about who would win that rematch.

Yea, plus styles make matches and all the top guys at LHW have different styles so i could definitely see the belt changing hands a lot. If someone wants to hold it for long It comes down to who makes the most rapid growth on a fight-to-fight basis and Rashad definitely has a good case for that.

Rashad seems so ordinary compared to the ninja mystique of Hua. Then again, I still never understood why Hua lost to Forrest. Definitely a draw.

I love the Shogun bandwagon. It was never this big before the 1rst machida fight, everyone said shogun was gonna get destroyed...I got Rashad winning this fight, than I cant wait to hear all u say how Rashad was boring and didnt deserve it. He is no where close to as boring as gsp has gotten.

Oh yea? well rua was my favorite fighter since 1930, and the shogun bandwagon was broken down before the first machida fight because machida hijacked it...

pffft rampage has to much pride to admit he didnt show up in shape agianst rashad at all. jackson has never looked so AWFUL in his career. nd if that little chimpanzee rashad dances around like a retard he will get knocked the **** out in the fight agianst shogun. rashad has proved the longer he stays in teh cage the more chance he has of getting caught on his little glass chin

Since Rashad got KTFO by Machida he's gone back to his wrestilng game, he's not as willing to stand and exchange as he used to be, like in his fight with Brad Imes back in the day, in that fight Rashad was swinging for the fences man but even up to recent times he was willing to exchange, till he got caught, now he's scared to strike with known heavy punchers, like against Rampage, it's clear to see. He's lucky Rampage didn't show up for that fight man, for real, and i STILL say Rampage is, by far, the better fighter and Shogun is also a better fighter than Rashad and Rashad isn't going to have that kind of luck twice, no way man. Shogun wont let him bounce around, if he is as aggressive with his Muay thai as he was against Machida, it wont even be close, Rashad will get fuc*ed up chute box style........can not wait!.....:(.....
