Ultimate Fighting Championship will travel for the first time since UFC 90 to Montreal, Quebec, Canada to present the stacked UFC  113: Machida vs Shogun fight card. The event will take place at the 21,000-capable Bell Center on May 8th, this Saturday.

UFC  113 will be headlined by probably the most anticipated rematch in Mixed Martial Arts history, as the yet to be beaten Light Heavyweight Champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida would like to make a statement he is truly the best, against Mauricio Shogun Rua. The first fight between the two Brazilians ended in controversy, after Shogun dominated Machida with a devastating Muay Thai style, but it was the Champion who kept the belt after winning a Unanimous Decision.

Months of trash talking will finally come to an end, when the welterweights Josh Koscheck and the British knockout artist Paul Daley will square off in the co-main event of the evening. With a possible shot at the UFC Welterweight title on the line, the more experienced Koscheck will look to prove everyone that he deserves the chance he demanded after beating Anthony Johnson. “Semtex” Daley is currently 2-0 in the UFC, after impressively going through the top contenders Dustin Hazelett and Martin Kampmann.

Constantly improving internet sensation Kimbo Slice will go to war against the fellow TUF 10 participant Matt Mitrione in the Heavyweight attraction of the night. Both fighters made successful appearances at The Ultimate Fighter 10 finale, and will look to prove that they are well-worth a contract in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Also on the main card of the event, Quebec-native Patrick “The Predator” Cote will finally return to the Octagon after long months of absence against the top Middleweight Alan Belcher. Sam Stout will square off against Jeremy Stephens, as an impressive victory could put one of the fighters in the mix for the future shot at the UFC Lightweight title.

Alan Belcher def. Patrick Cote
via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Round 2 3:25
Round 1: The fight gets underway. Alan Belcher begins with an aggressive Muay Thai style, attacking Patrick Cote with arsenal of kicks. The Predator looks calm, holding his position and countering Belcher. Cote at the hot seat now… the Canadian reduces distance from Belcher, pushing The Talent to the fence. Cote does a little damage with his onslaught, but he clearly has the Octagon control right now. Belcher continues with the kicks, Cote clinches… and takes Alan Belcher down. Cote begins to work his Ground and Pound, he tries to pass Belcher’s guard, and now advances to the side control. Kimura attempt by Patrick Cote! Belcher is in a serious trouble here, he looks in pain! Will he tap? No… Belcher manages to defend. Belcher in the side control now, not much damage as the first round ends. Good round by Patrick Cote! There was a talk about ring rust due to the long layoff, but The Predator looks good as new! 10-9 for Patrick Cote.
Round 2: It looks like the Kimura has seriously hurt Alan Belcher. He looks less aggressive, as Patrick Cote begins to work his stinging striking. Cote connects with a good combo!  And another one! Alan Belcher tries to defend with knees, and pushes Patrick Cote to the fence. Good movement and dirty boxing from Patrick Cote! He connects again with a perfectly executed hook, but Belcher is still untouchable. Belcher responds with a good knee to the mid section, and Cote takes him down. Not much action on the ground as they stand up. ILLEGAL PILEDRIVER! Patrick Cote looks seriously hurt! Alan Belcher sends two underhooks under the chin of Cote, and The Predator quickly taps! Poor decision by Mario Yamasaki. Patrick Cote was leading this fight, but it is Alan Belcher who gets the victory in the end.
Matt Mitrione def. Kimbo Slice
via TKO Round 2 4:25
Round 1: Matt Mitrione looks much bigger than Kimbo Slice in that fight. Good distance from the Meathead, he is trying a few kicks, but Kimbo Slice takes him down. The Triangle Choke is locked! Kimbo Slice is in a serious trouble, he has to roll on the side and Kimbo is done! No… Mitrione releases the hold and Kimbo advances to the side control. Kimbo begins to work his Ground and Pound, but Matt Mitrione quickly rolls on the side and gets up. Clinch at the fence…. and Kimbo takes Matt Mitrione down again! Matt Mitrione is looking for the Triangle again, but he cannot lock it, and they stand up. Lethal knees by Matt Mitrione! Kimbo Slice is dropped! Matt Mitrione follows him to the ground, and locks a very deep Anaconda Choke on Kimbo Slice! First Round is over! WOW! It is a war, ladies and gentleman, and a tough round to call, but I will give it 10-9 to Meathead.
Round 2: Matt Mitrione looks like a far more well-rounded fighter in the bout. Mitrione punishes Kimbo Slice with a leg kicks, and Kimbo looks seriously hurt! Kimbo goes to the ground, and I will be very surprised if this fight goes beyond this round. Kimbo’s hands are done, Mitrione begins with knees and striking combos directly to Kimbo’s chin! Kimbo tries to take Mitrione down, but simply dives to the ground. Vicious knee by Matt Mitrione and he begins to work a submission. Kimbo manages to somehow defend another Anaconda, but Mitrione is in a full mount right now. Kimbo cannot improve his position. Punch after, punch… One minute to go.  Another Kimura attempt by Matt Mitrione.. no, Kimbo Slice survives. Matt Mitrione continues to land bombs on Kimbo, and the referee stops the fight! TKO victory for Matt Mitrione over Kimbo Slice! Well, maybe he was not that sharp and powerful, but Matt Mitrione showed an impressive arsenal of skills in this fight.
Jeremy Stephens def. Sam Stout
via Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29)
Round 1: Sam Stout begins the fight with a cautious approach, but it is Jeremy Stephens who looks more aggressive, trying striking combos. Stephens takes Stout down, but without much damage on the ground, Mario Yamasaki decides to stand them up.  Sam Stout begins to wake up, good combos and a painful lowkicks that really hurt Stephens. Sam Stout is in full control right now. Fantastic cross by Jeremy Stephens! Sam Stout is knocked down! But Stephens is unable to finish, as they both stand up again. Spinning backfist by Stephens! Sam Stout is the more aggressive striker here, but Jeremy Stephens is the one who does the damage. Fantastic striking round! It’s a tough call, but I would give it 10-9 to Sam Stout.
Round 2: The second round begins with Sam Stout picking Stephens apart. But again, it is Jeremy Stephens who connects and drops Sam Stout with a good hook. Stephens follows the Canadian to the ground, Sam Stout tries a very technical Kimura, but Stephens manages to escape.  They stand up, as Sam Stout is continuing his striking onslaught. It looks like Jeremy Stephens loses his momentum in this fight. Both fighters center the Octagon going toe to toe, but Stephens decides to take Stout to the ground, but Sam Stout easily sprawls that attempt. Second round ends, this time it’s a clear 10-9 for Sam Stout.
Round 3: Jeremy Stephens looks a little bit rejuvenated in the final third round. He connects with a very good, powerful-looking combos, as Sam Stout’s chin works extra hours in that fight. Jeremy Stephens knows that he has to give his 120 percent to secure the victory. Sam Stout tries to stand up with Stephens, but Stephens goes guns blazing! Oh, and Jeremy Stephens looks seriously hurt. It looks like it was a leg kick to the groin that hurt him, as Sam Stout goes swarming over Stephens. Sam Stout follows Stephens to the ground, punishing him with a vicious ground and pound. Jeremy Stephens is swinging looking for the knockout, but decides to take Sam Stout down. He cannot hold the Canadian on the ground, as they stand up. The fight ends. I would give the final round 10-9 to Stephens, but it looks like the decision will go to Sam Stout’s favor. And… a Split Decision to Jeremy Stephens! Somehow surprising, but in fact it was a very close fight.
Josh Koscheck def. Paul Daley
via Unanimous Decision (30-27)
Round 1: Paul Daley opens the first round with a flying knee, which hits nothing but air. Josh Koscheck looks calm, measuring the distance from Paul Dlaey, who uses an orthodox boxing stance. Josh Koscheck takes down Paul Dlaey with a single leg! Paul Daley tries to get up, but Koscheck simply slams Daley back to the ground. Josh Koscheck begins to work his ground and pound, using his side control position. Half guard now from Josh Koscheck.  Josh Koscheck simply pins Paul Daley to the ground, Semtex desperately tries to get up, but Koscheck is all over him. Rear Naked Choke attempt by Josh Koscheck! He has one hand near Daley’s chin… and no, Paul Daley escapes! Paul Daley quickly gets up and delivers a vicious knee to Josh Koscheck head. The knee was illegal; Koscheck is hurt on the ground, asking doctors to check his eye. Koscheck has a small cut above the bridge of his nose, but the replay shows that Paul Dlaey’s knee did not even touch Koscheck. Anyway, the fight continues for a few seconds with Paul Daley sprawling Koscheck’s takedown attempt. 10-9 Josh Koscheck.
Round 2: Second round begins. Paul Daley is clearly the more aggressive striker here, but every time he comes to the striking distance, Josh Koscheck  is looking for the takedown. Josh Koscheck quickly takes Paul Daley to the ground and begins to work his ground and pound from the half guard. Josh Koscheck does a very little damage to Paul Daley on the ground, as the referee should stand them up in any moment. Good Ground and Pound by Josh Koscheck!  Paul Daley rolls to the side and Josh Koscheck is looking for the Rear Naked Choke. Josh Koscheck is in full control over Paul Daley’s body, but the stubborn Brit refuses to award a submission to Koscheck. Second round ends, and the crowd is booing. 10-9 Josh Koscheck.
Round 3: Paul Daley’s stand up stance reminds me of Mike Tyson, but the knockout is nowhere near in that fight. Paul Daley controls the Octagon, stalking Josh Koscheck near the fence. Semtex tries a few combos, but Josh Koscheck quickly takes Paul Daley to the ground, directly to the half-guard. Paul Daley is helpless on the ground, as Josh Koscheck achieves a full mount. Paul Daley does a good job by preventing from Josh Koscheck to use his Ground and Pound. Paul Daley tries to escape; he is rolling on the ground, looking for an opening – but Josh Koscheck is all over him. Koscheck gives up the full mount and goes back to the half-guard. The fight ends, and Josh Koscheck will probably win that fight! Wow! Paul Daley punches Josh Koscheck after the bell. Nashville Riots anyone! That was a simply disgraceful outburst by Paul Daley. Josh Koscheck is all smiles, as Paul Daley knows that he will lose that fight. Yes, 30-27 victory for Josh Koscheck! Well Done! Josh Koscheck vs Georges St. Pierre at TUF 12, and then for the UFC Welterweight title!
Shogun Rua def. Lyoto Machida
via TKO Round 1 3:37
Round 1: Here we go! Lyoto Machida with the classic Shotokan stance, Shogun Rua is Muay Thai. Both fighters are measuring the distance, with Machida being more aggressive early one. First low kick from Shogun Rua, as the Pride legend beings an onslaught.  Machida steps back, but Shogun tries to take Machida down. Shogun is unsuccessful in his attempt, and it is Machida who scores the takedown. No action on the ground, as the fighters stand up and clinch at the fence. Shogun Rua is not afraid to stand and bang with Machida! He chases Machida around the Octagon, as the Champion quickly retreats. Another takedown by Lyoto Machida! They quickly stand up again… Shogun Rua tries some dirty boxing, as they center the Octagon. Machida knees Shogun, who responds with a powerful right hand to the side of the head!!! Lyoto Machida is down! Shogun Rua advances to the full mount and finishes Lyoto Machida! IT IS ALL OVER! Shogun Rua is the new UFC Light Heavyweight Champion!!! WOW!

    1. Stout- *looked real sharp in his last fight.

    2. Belcher- *Cote has been away awhile, could affect his comeback.

    3. Slice- *Could go either way, but I see a quick slugfest here.

    4. Koscheck- *If he takes Daley down and works his G&P, he should get the "W". Not really a fan of either fighter.

    5. Shogun- *Can't miss being a great, close fight, but my money is on SHOGUN.

Stout TKO - he's just gonna keep cruising from his last fight

Belcher decision - I like Cote but ring rust will get him

Mitrione KO - unfortunately, Kimbo's hands aren't as good as we'd like them to be

Koshchek Sub - no way Daley is gonna stop a take down if Kos wants to take the fight there

Shogun decision or tko - I think he's gonna work a simliar strategy but amp up the aggression more once Machida starts to slow down

From the article up top: "Shogun dominated Machida" wtf? What fight were you watching buddy? Arguments can be made that either man won the fight (I had Shogun personally), it really was pretty close. Both men are great fighters, but I'm surprised to see so many people counting Machida out. Don't get me wrong I hope that Rua wins (simply since I felt he won the first fight - nothing against Machida), but as hungry and determined as Shogun is for this fight, Machida also feels that his previous win (and thus his champion status) must be validated with a decisive victory this Saturday. All in all I think this could be a great fight, can't wait!

Man I know that its a smart strategy to utilize. I know its effective and all that good stuff, but with that being said I am getting sick of fights ending or being decided over LEG KICKS!! Its soooo boring!! There really isnt any great way to take a leg kick either. Even if u minimize the damage, u are still getting some damage. I dunno just bores me. Only real good reply for them is to try to catch them stepping in for it and get the KO.

Well... I may be wrong here. It still looked as an illegal throw to me. To tell you the truth - I am not sure if the rule talks about landing on the top of the head, or the throw itself is illegal. I will be thankful if someone lights up the situation a bit....

he landed on his face and not the top of his head so i think that is clearly legal

I agree DanC454, Mitrione looked good. At times I forgot that he was just as inexperienced, if not more so, than Kimbo. Was very intelligent of the ground, well intelligent for what I would have expected. Yea Cote was looking strong, that was an ugly outcome. I am very impressed with the card so far as well tho!! Cant wait for Kos vs Daley!!

I like Shogun but they are saying he has had knee problems leading up to the fight. Hope its still a good fight and the knee isn't a factor.
