I think Kimbo should have gotten one last shot, but unfortunately, Dana holds all the cards.

That's what I was hoping as well. Kimbo was 1-1 in the UFC... So was Brock. He should be given another chance to prove himself.

Who is left for him to fight though joelseph... They gave Kimbo the best possible match-ups, gave him every advantage they could, and, after Matt I can't see anyone in the HW division for Kimbo to fight.

Imagine that old guy's leg when he fights a HW who can throw real HW leg-kicks? I like Kimbo, I didn't at first, didn't think he deserved a shot... But, he earned a shot and he took it.

Strikeforce might actually pay him more money than the UFC was anyway. They're absolutely desperate for big-names, and they will have PLENTY of Tank Abbot style goons for him to beat up on.

The thing is that its clear now that Kimbo really doesn't have a future in the UFC. He's old, he's got some knee problems, and he has a long way to go before he can be competitive.

We all saw on TUF that Kimbo was hungry and willing to learn, but in his 2 UFC fights he hasn't shown enough growth to be any kind of threat to the division. He simply doesn't have enough time left.

Whoever lost that fight (kimbo or mitrione) was probably going to get cut. the winner earned another chance to grow and prove that they deserve a spot in the UFC.

The reason Dana cut Kimbo had nothing to do with race. Dana got out-negotiated when drawing up Kimbo's contract and couldn't stomach paying him mid six figures per fight. Dana feels like he's already gotten as much as he can (new fans) out of Kimbo, and that he's served his purpose. He's banking on kimbo fans sticking around to watch and pay for ufc events after kimbo's been cut.

Kimbo should head over to Strikeforce and then maybe do a two fight series (first, an MMA fight and then a five round boxing match) vs. James Toney after Randy taps him. These guys should use Dana and the UFC for pub the same way he's trying to use them.

Kimbo seems like a nice guy who was doing his best to become an MMA fighter. He has made a lot of money over the last few years as a brand and brought a lot of attention to the sport, mostly positive. But let's be honest, he's not a great heavyweight fighter. He is a small heavy weight with no ground game and no defense against leg kicks. His last two fights UFC had to sign guys to a one fight deal to try and set Kimbo up for a win. Mitrione should have never been signed to a UFC contract and shame on the UFC for doing it. The UFC was trying to ride the Kimbo train for as long as they could. It's over now and i'm glad Kimbo made some money and stayed true to himself. Hopefully he moves on and finds a new career for himself.

Somehow, I think Brock facing Herring, And Mir, is a bit more of a step up then fighting Mitrione and Houston Alexander.

Honestly, At the end of he day. If Kimbo cannot beat Mitrione, Then who can he beat in the HeavyWeight division? I can't see him realistically winning too many fights. And the Dana has a bunch of pride on the line, too much to keep feeding Kimbo tin cans to beat.

The thing is if u look at the mma of old, fighters were never cut after their first loss, even if it was a poor showing. The truth is everything is about money nowadays. If Dana thinks fans aren't gonna be interested in Kimbo then thats his fate already sealed. No second chance, no need to et him train to get better. Its harsh I have to say but Strikeforce is gonna be better 4 kimbo anyway, they will match him with other sluggers and he will get paid

I think Kimbo and Paul Daley should hightail it over to Strikeforce. And I thing Anderson Silva, Rampage, BJ Penn and Machida should follow. Dana's going straight Republican w/ the UFC, nickel-and-dime-ing fighters w/ relatively minuscule salaries and barring sponsors.

At Strikeforce fighters can use sponsors to create their own fortunes. Plus, Strikeforce still the embodies the spirit of MMA. Let the Brocks and Chael Sonnens of the mma world stay with the UFC.

Regardless of it was fair or not Kimbo is in a better position to go to other organizations. He has more hype and more skills. He was not in great place to promote himself after the Petrazelli loss. He was 1-0 (in the ufc) coming into this fight but you got to remember what that first fight was like with Houston(that is not including his loss in the Ultimate Fighter). Its easy to criticize DW but I am sick of watching fighters because they are expected to get better not because they are good enough to compete at a high level(Herschel Walker comes to mind).

How many decent, talented, potential champions never get close to a shot like Kimbo had. If they leave him in as a placeholder - genuine talented up and comers have no chance to get in.

Strikeforce is a better match, or one of the myriad new MMA Organisations, they have deep pockets and no reputation to lose, Kimbo can easily get beat up in any organisation and triple his UFC paycheck.

I say Kimbo should have gotten another shot. It was Dana's decision to sign him so how can you cut him while he is 1-1? Doesnt make sense. I just feel like Slice has been working really hard and regardless of what some people are saying he DID in fact evolve! Did he evolve into a great fighter? No, obviously not. However, he is improving and with a 1-1 record you almost HAVE TO give him one more fight. I was hoping to see one more go but at LHW. Oh well.

I think KImbo has nothing to do in the UFC anymore even if it's sad and even if he is a nice guy. I think he still has this problem with his knee, the same one that shows up in the TUF show. And If I remember the doctor said it was a reccurent problem so with kimbo's age it wasn't going to be any better.

Yea that is the truth. If he and Dana could have worked something out sooner than maybe he would have had a better chance. His opponents purposely attack that knee to. Houston did it big time and obviously Mitrione did as well. Kind of a lame thing to do, but I guess you cant blame them.......I guess

I totally agree with you BruceLee. Why do fighters in the UFC have no rights. Dana seems more like a dictator than a president sometimes. I feel the situation should be looked over and analyzed over the next few days before a decision is made. Trying to talk to a fighter like Daley after a frustrating fight is not a good situation for anyone. I'm also surprised the ref wasn't more on top of the situation when the bell rang to end the 3rd round. Daley messed up, no doubt, and should be fined and suspended, but the decesion should have come after a few days level headed conversation. KOS is a bi*tc@, but I bet he wouldn't mind a rematch with Daley.

I can't stand Koscheck, he is a whiny faker and a spoiled little girl.

But Daley proved he is not a sportsman - he is not a fair fighter - and his head is easily messed up. He is in the big time spotlight, and he is sucker punching like a school kid. If he had a bat a 5 friends, he would have jumped Koscheck after the event - but i doubt he has 5 friends.

He tried to genuinely knee Koscheck illegally in the head in the fight - and then throws punches after the bell. What more evidence that he is a total loser do you need?

He has been thrown out - and that is a positive and good thing, for the sport, sucks balls for him - but he is probably used to that sort of thing.

I feel what you’re saying Kicker, Daley messed up. And maybe he should be cut from the UFC, but shouldn't he at least get a say in all of this. Is it really smart for Dana to just throw out ultimatums, demands and threats to fighters like he does? I feel the fighters in the UFC need something like a union to protect their rights and at least have a say in their future. Right now Dana runs the show like a Dictator. And if you’re in good with Dana, life is great, if not, you’re screwed. UFC does have the most talent but Dana could take a few lessons on running a company from Scott Coker.

Fighters have an entire entourage of legal support at this level - so a union isn't going to help them.

A union is nothing more than strength in numbers and intimidation, the 1st things union do is decrease potential earnings by wholesale instituting of salary caps, and take fees away from the people they represent.

Great idea, for people without legal teams and low intelligence that need protection. These fighters walk in with full knowledge of what they are signing up for, they willingly take the deals and equally reap the benefits of success.

Dana is keeping it real man. Listen, 90% of the fighters in the UFC have been doing this since they where in diapers! They have wrestled in High School, College, and have had significant experience. Kimbo, all respect to the cat but he started way too late and it shows! How are you going to compete at the highest level when your arsenal in nothing but a one dimensional attack? Kimbo needs to go to a smaller organization and gain the experience there and of coarse continue with American top team. Quite frankly, at 36, to become successful at this level of MMA his chances are slim to none. I am keeping it real.

I think Daley deserves to be cut, not Kimbo.

Friggin Daley punch Kos after the fight in his eye ball which is very illegal during a fight, let alone after is even worse, but Kimbo just lost 1 fight... big deal we lose sometimes right?

I mean being cut when your 1-1 seems pretty stupid, i think Kimbo should have gotten another chance. I lost 10 bucks on that fight last night, i acctually thought Kimbo would take that fight. But those leg kicks and MeatHeads ground was awsome is flexability to was off the scale.

Kimbo may be cut from the UFC but i am still his fan and i look forward to see him again soon and i wish him the best of good luck. Also MeatHead just got a new fan today *ME*

sucks that Kimbo got cut. Thing is, anyone that saw TUF 10 knows that his knee is shot. Attack his legs and he's done. Wish he could of got one more fight but hey, thats the way it goes. If he goes to Strikeforce I'll follow him there. Daley is a bitch. Like someone else said, Kos aint no angel but hitting a fighter after the bell is punk move. i really dont think kimbo should have been cut so soon, now idk if its cause dana was heated over daleys stupid sucker punch or not but still, if you ask me....if kimbo didnt want to be in mma and further his fighting skill he never would ave gone in the first place, even still if he didnt like how rough training and whatever else he was doing was dont you think he would have quit? besides you gotta remember that building ground game isnt something that just happens overnight or even in a year some people just expected kimbo to soak up everything everyone taught him like a sponge on the first try......no, how long ago did kimbo say "hey mma, more complexed fighting and tougher opponents" "i want a part of this" some time late last year, whereas some of these other fighters have been training in mma for years if not damn near their whole lives. now i really do think kimbo was a natural born street fighter its where he began and its more than likely where it'll end but if dana would get his head out of his ass and work with kimbo for a little longer. i feel he could prosper quite well but maybe thats just me, ive been wrong before

I think dana should give kimbo another chance by letting him compete at 205. If kimbo can't do it, then sorry buddy...

Even though I don't think Kimbo should have been cut from the UFC, I'm not sure he can really beat anyone in the LHW division.

    Option 4

Neither deserved a cut. Acts of aggression and stupidity happen in all sports (Hockey brawls, basketball/baseball fights, etc.) and these players are not banned, they are fined and suspended. Banning Daley forever sounds absolutely ridiculous.

As for Kimbo, he has a long way to go, but he should have at least one more shot.

omfg, I forgot about that 0___0, but UFC is in a time where they don't need that type of stuff.

I think daley was just unlucky and did it at the wrong time. If mma was sanctioned everywhere and eventually became a olympic sport, then I have no doubt in my mind that he wouldn't be banned forever.

Also, he might be given a chance to come back in the far future. I mean they let Gilbert Yvel fight in their promotion after knowing about his misconduct.

Daley will kill this sport, like they've killed all the others. Sport should make us want to be better, it's not about a$$holes riding out disgusting ego trips and being a... Oh well, can't say it cause certain truths are being called racist.

Just go do that in the streets with like minded retards if you want to be a loser and an animal..

I voted Daily, for obvious reasons that kind of street-thug behavior can't be allowed. It's funny really, because Kimbo is the guy from the street, the thug, but he's a sweetheart according to everybody. Daily is supposed to be the professional martial artist... How backwards...

I don't think Kimbo "deserved" to be cut, I don't think it was a matter of "deserve". Paul deserved it. Kimbo just ran out of road, it's not his fault, not his doing. Kimbo will go on to make plenty of money.

We all like Kimbo bcz he's such a humble person with drive and dedication. But we also know that he is done done-a. After TUF you knew he wasn't gonna be no champ or nothing like that but he was given a chance. Which I think was pretty cool of Dana (even if it was just for money gain). Truth is, I dont want to watch another fight whether it be with UFC, Strikeforce or some other organization where Kimbo just balls it up. He should know when to cut his losses and that time is now. He should aspire to be a co-host with Mike Goldberg and Joe Rogan or sumthing like that.

I dont necessarily agree with Dana cutting Daley. I know what he did was unprofessional and cheap. But he is a young fighter who is still growing and evolving as a fighter and person. Basically, he still has a future (unlike Kimbo) I think that instead to cutting Daley, Dana should have f***ed with his money and suspended him or something like that.

Kimbo has been MMA fighting professionally and televised since 2007. He had his chance, do we need to see MMA devolve any further by chump fighters being propped up for marketing purposes?

Kimbo got in because of YouTUBE, not skill, he has a notorious name for fighting losers in backyards, he can now go back to his strength. I am sure a reality TV SHow - BBQ Bitch Slap with Kimbo Slice - Backyard Brawl - Bro's Wearing Head Pantyhose - would take off. His career is on the up for what he brings.

If it was up to me I would tell Kimbo to go down to 205 if he wanted to continue in the UFC, I don't really think he would have much chance at 205 either but it would be fair to give him that shot.

Yeah, I don't know. It seems like there are a lot more devastating kickers at 205 than HW. That bum knee is just too bad... He's built like he should be able to power-slam a volkswagen though, and have a solid base for GnP. Might be more effective at 205.

I wonder if he even can make 205... The guy is a huge gorilla. Lot of muscle.

Oh and Dana was 100% correct to cut Daily, imo what Daily did makes the Strikeforce brawl seem like a very minor thing at least it wasn't the two fighters who just went 15min together that started fighting each other after the bell, Daily is not a professional and acted like some retard on steroids.

I probably would have given Kimbo another shot, as we have seen many fighters get plenty of opportunities even though they have lost more than won. As far as Daley goes, it's a no brainer. Absolutely positively the right call was made. He had 15 minutes in the cage to hit Koscheck all he wanted to, and yet he displays the worst type of poor sportsmanship after the fight. The UFC did the right thing by making an example out of him.

Kimbo was suprisingly awsome but his major flaw i saw was his lack of cardio. he was slamin matt and later in the 1st you could see him just drop off. Once he gets some cardio done and ground game i think he'll be great!
