Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin III set for UFC 148 supercard
Posted on March 20, 2012, 08:06 AM by Anton GurevichMixed Martial Arts legend Tito "The Huntington Beach Bad Boy" Ortiz will go to war for the last time in his career, facing Forrest Griffin in a trilogy bout at UFC 148, currently scheduled to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 7th.
Ortiz is on a negative 1-6-1 streak in his last eight bouts, winning only against Ryan "Darth" Bader back at UFC 132 (July 2nd, 2011). Against Griffin, Ortiz will return to the same arena where he defeated Bader one year ago, looking to end his career with a "W".
First fight between Ortiz and Griffin took place back at UFC 59 (April, 2006), with The Huntington Beach Bad Boy getting his hand raised via a Split Decision. The pair met again back at UFC 106 (November, 2009), and once again the judges were split on their decision, only that this time it was Forrest Griffin who left the arena victorious.
UFC 148 quickly shapes up as one of the most promising cards of 2012; Urijah Faber vs. Dominick Cruz rematch is expected to headline the card, which already includes high-profile bouts such as Rich Franklin vs. Cung Le, Michael Bisping vs. Tim Boetsch, and of course Tito Ortiz vs. Forrest Griffin 3.

SO EXCITED...
I would rather watch Grffin/Ortiz 1000 times than to watch Cruz Faber again.
cruz faber always put on good fights, Ortiz's last couple of fights have been so one sided its not even funny.
Thats a new angle, bash Tito for winning hahahah.
Supercard? How is this a supercard? Most of these fighters are on their way down or out. Some really good fights here but hardly a supercard.
I agree there is nothing super about this card
think it just means that the four fights known so far for the card have huge names
this may be the last time we see several of these fighters in the octagon. i think that may be why they are saying super card. because of the fact they all want to go out with a win they should be really good fights.
upcoming heavyweight clashes are on supercard from prelims to main.
Forest by chest hair asphyxiation.
Yawn
Not interested, their last fight was so bad. One of the most disappointing, stilted fights ever. God knows why they're doing it again.
Cuz Tito is begging Dana to give him a chance to go out on a win.
The people weaking me are obviously noobs that didn't see that fight. So just so you know, I forgive you.
I don't normally like to be negative but come on..... this fight stinks. They did it a year or so ago and it sucked then. Nothing has changed. If anything it's going to be worse.
Guida Vs Maynard, now that's a fight I can get excited about. That's going to be an amazing fight providing Maynard power isn't too much for Clay early.
Come on man, don't blow (no pun intended) Jenna's rare occasion to play dress up, go outside and pretend to be relevant.
Tito, Boetsch, Franklin, Faber
Griffin, Bisping, Le, Cruz
Cruz, Griffin, Franklin, Bisping
+ 1
Another fight where Ortiz will lose a decision (unfortunately he won't get knocked out) and will brag about how he thought he won 100% one last time before retiring.
....Hey buddy, watch it...he "gave his all, and was 100% before the fight but an old injury came back minutes before entering the octogon"...thanks for the good ol days Tito...but please, stfu and retire now.
I think the biggest lock on the card, so far, is Bisping.
He had a extremely close fight with he #2 MW in the world, IMO he actually won the fight.
Boetsch was dominated by Okami and he did an amazing job coming back but I think Bisping has a harder chin than Okami.
(Hendo comments roll in but remember who Hendo is)
Griffin by UD anyone?
No way Forrest's pillow hands can TKO ortiz
Ortiz, Bisping, Faber, Le....
Griffin vs Ortiz = the battle of the has beens.
