Former Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz, who was last seen in action suffering a first-round TKO loss to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira in December, discusses the defeat, as well as his fighting future. Ortiz reveals that his ribs were not, in fact, broken in the Nogueira fight, and admits that, after one more fight, it's time to "walk away." Photo: Francis Specker

Tito Ortiz

"Hopefully, Fourth of July weekend, I'll be fighting my last fight and I'll be done. That's it, it's time to walk away. You know, Forrest (Griffin), or I know everybody would love to see me against Chuck (Liddell) - I don't know. We'll see what Dana and Lorenzo have to offer and see what they want to do. I'll sit down with Lorenzo and Dana next week and let's see, let's make a fight, my last fight and let's make it memorable."

i like Tito Ortiz. He is such a funny character in the UFC with his huge head. lol . I would love to see him take advantage of the Lidell's glass jaw and avege his 2 losses against him before retiring.

It would be great to see him againt fedor. so fedor would prove that he could beat a top contender of the UFC

    Come on gangsta,Fedor with Ortiz?

You say you admire Fedor and now you want him to fight a guy who was a speaker in Fedor's affliction fight and was calling Him Emilienko instead of Emelianenko...

Ortiz is a good legend but Fedor wouldn't dirt his hands by fighting Ortiz.

    Just different levels.

gangsta is a comedian doing some kind of weird performance art where he pretends to be a Fedor fan in order to make fun of Fedor and his fans. Either that or he is special.

    Bro your full of crap....

Ortiz is not top contender....He is in the UFC...but not top contender....

Also FEDOR is a Heavyweight not a Light Heavyweight.....maybe Fedor would be good in Light Heavyweight but I dont think he can cut the weight...

They might as well give him the Forrest fight. We know he only mentioned Liddel because he knows he pussed out and he knows Chuck is retired and most likely not in fight shape anyways.

I think Tito was one of the guys who had so much success early on that when he fell from the top his ego couldn't adapt. He married a well known pornstar to stay in the spotlight and media.

Dont talk about YOUR champ like that !

tito is the people's champ, he fights and talk to entertain you and me.

So give him a little bit of love and respect for that. This guys is a good bloke ,considering where he comes from, the education he had with his parents etc.

When he was young he was a bit asshole , but now he is a very cool guy , who succeed in life, who has hi brand and stuff.

Dude just quit ok, Im beginning to think you dont know jack about MMA in general. Im surprised more people havent told you to shut up about Fedor, you'll be the guy at an MMA site thats 70 years old still rattling about Fedor and no-one will even know who that is.

How about Rich Franklin? He is unfortunately a bit of a nomad in the division himself right now. That could be a decent fight.

Would really like to see this. Rich retired Chuck so it makes sense to have him retire Ortiz, but in the off chance that he lost I would probably stop watching UFC forever.

Forest is such a boring fighter with such an ugly style...

Another fighter pushed by Dana to the top.Doesn't deserve it.It's a pitty that Shogun lost the first time.

This slugfest you're talking about is just a good fight pushed by Dana to be one of the greatest.I mhave watched every single mma event in mma history by chronological order!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!And believe me there have been many much more entertaining slugfests in history.

Just 2 recent fights(hendo's and alvarez's) are far more better.

Now about griffin. It's just his style. He is not besutifull at all.Look,I'm a sportsman and I know that if you try to look pretty then comes the proper technique. For example as we say in basketball Jordan ios pretty in martial arts Bruce Lee is pretty. Then Jardine is ugly and griffin is ugly also. Not in the face. It's the style.Never expect a good knockout from griffin because he just don't move his body correct to succeed a good knockout.

Yes, there have been other fights since that give the Griffin/Bonnar classic a run for it's money, but that one fight turned the UFC around. It is by far the most important fight in the history of the UFC as it changed it's fortunes and stopped a slump. I would say most Edgar fights, or Jones or GSP fights are 'greater' in MMA terms but not as a spectacle of evenly matched violence.

Tito's a coward for challenging Liddell. Chuck is a partyer and there's no way in hell he's anywhere close to being in shape right now.

i think tito should make a run at the HW title. he is a large LHW, walk around around 230 so could easily do it, and i feel he is still in his prime. i think he matches up well against overeem, mir and the other top 10 oponents.

Honestly I think Tito should have retired after beating Bader (By the way what ever happen to Ryan Bader?) I'm a fan of Tito and that was the "Rocky" moment. Now Tito is asking to fight Forrest or Liddell I just don't want fights to be come gimmicky. No offence to Tito but I believe that MMA has passed him by it's not a shot against Tito and his accomplishment BUT MMA now compared to MMA when Tito was king is totally different. In my opinion anyway.
