Alves was a disappointment in that fight...I thought all 3 rounds would be similar to the 3rd round of that fight were Alves was able to shake Story off and land big shots hurting Story but Story came with a better gameplan and was more effective definitely won that fight
I side with Anton. Thiago lost that fight, no matter which way he tries to spin it. Story controlled the fight and Thiago never did anything noteworthy enough to get out of anything.
story clearly won that fight but alves was landing the better shots in the 3rd and story looked like he was slowing down a bit. The decision was correct 29-28
Alves should be upset he couldn't execute a basic defensive strategy to avoid getting trapped the way he did. Story put it on him with a baisc gameplan and was able to actually walk through Alves power punches in the later rounds even when he gassed a little. Overall Alves should be more concerned with his performance.
Alves looked so hesitant during the fight. I think he was fearing the takedown a little too much. He wasn't throwing his hands like usual and we didn't see much of his devastating low kicks. He needs to make grapplers pay when they don't get the takedown. His striking skills would definitely make anyone think twice about not committing to any takedown attempts. I just hope Thiago can bounce back and make another solid run at the title.
Yes, it was a bad decision Thiago... that you couldn't even muster enough brain cells to avoid getting cornered.
I'm a huge fan but, dude, you lost that bout with a doubt. What the f*** were you thinking?
I would think he'd learn his lesson from the Fitch trilogy and the GSP title fight. Go to AKA, ATT has alot of great BJJ practitioners but very few wrestlers.
Can't stand it when a fighter loses a decision and then bitches about it..... He underestimated Story from the beginning, and that's what you get when you underestimate.

I thought round 1 would of be the round which was close but still I thought story won it round two hands own Story and round 3 was Alves
Thiago Alves was never in control against Story... even in Round 3.

Alves had his chance and I was even getting frustrated that he kept backing up against the cage and get trapped every time...
Story took the fight to Thiago, simple as that. Him being the aggressor won him the fight. Thiago has the tools but didn't use them.

I jus can't see what he means by dominating round 3. I dnt kno about you guys but Rick didn't dominate the fight but he definitely won that fight

With all due respect to Thiago, he's out of his mind to thing he won...I mean his striking looked great, but he was far from winning anything.
story sucks ****
