Yeah, sadly I get the feeling that Alves is going to be a stepping stone. He has won 1 fight since his title shot. And he is kind of "old school" if you know what mean. He's been around so long, what else is left for him to do?
You mean, "sitle thot".
He has won two fights since his "shitle tot", against john howard and papy abedi.
reminded me of Hardy vs Lytle same shit.
Pure rookie mistake and Alves should have known better, it was just plain stupid.
If your a striker and hurt a guy who has 1/2 his wins by sub, why TF are you going to take him down? Thiago should have stayed standing and finished him.
wow what a ****ing idiot. 1 minute left, you have the guy hurt and you're a world class striker so what do you do? go for a ****ing takedown and get subbed
my thoughts excactly
Ya i was like wtf are you doing go for a tko not a take down. He did it to himself which is sad.
i dont know about him being a stepping stone if he didnt go for the take down he would have at the least won 30-27 on all three cards.
This was a 5 round fight. Thiago did not lose in the last seconds of the fight, he lost in the last seconds of round 3. There still would have been 2 rounds left!!!
He just felt comfortable witht the takedown because in the first round he took him down and controlled him so he probably thought he could do it for the last minute of the fight to get the points. He should have kept it standing and went for the finish but it is always easy to say what you would or should do from the comfort of your home. But he is definitley not a stepping stone and with a couple wins he could possibly be in contention you just never know.
