The stars of UFC 134 talk fighting in Rio: Anderson Silva, Yushin Okami, Shogun Rua, and more
Posted on June 20, 2011, 06:35 PM by Joey SantosusFollowing the UFC's special press conference in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the stars of UFC 134 shared their thoughts on the event, as well as their respective match-ups. The promotion will return to Brazil for the first time since UFC 17.5 when they pack the sold-out HSBC Arena on August 27th.
The stacked card will be headlined by a Middleweight title clash between division Champion Anderson Silva and perennial contender Yushin Okami, while former Light Heavyweight title holder Mauricio "Shogun" Rua looks to avenge his loss to Forrest Griffin in the co-main event.

cant wait till forrest beats Shogun again and maybe for once in his career people will give him some credit and not count him as an underdog in every ****ing fight!
sorry but i don't see any of the guys from brazil loosing...forrest is no joke but lets be honest he lost something after anderson embarrassed him i don't see him winning....

I think Anderson is going to win, but I'm not sure about the other two, I think Brandon is going to be too young, too big, too athletic and too good standing up for Big Nog. But then again if it goes to the ground he off course as a great chance to win.
And I don't know what to think about the Shogun fight, Griffin is very good and had a great performence against Franklin where Shogun really looked awful against Jones... but then again every body looks bad against Bones. I don't want mention the 1st fight cause they were both either in bad shape of injured and evolved a lot since then so... we'll see.

Given Forrest's newfound wrestling abilities, I can see him getting a decision over Shogun. But if Shogun has actually improved his cardio and can go all three rounds, then I think he can beat Forrest. I'm not betting on it though.
I think the Noguiera vs. Velasquez fight proved Nogueira's real weakness in the stand up. Brendan's excellent at combinations and has plenty of power, and if Nogueira can't get it to the ground, Schaub is gonna decision him like he did Gonzaga or knock him out like he did Cro Cop.
As for the Silva vs. Okami fight, I love Yushin Okami but I honestly can't see any way for him to win this fight. He doesn't bring anything that Anderson hasn't already dealt with in the past. His striking is decent but nowhere near the level of Anderson's, his ground and pound is what makes him so good, and he's been working with Chael Sonnen a lot, so I think he's gonna go for the takedown. I think it goes without question that Anderson has been working off his back after the Chael fight, so I have to go with the champ on this one.
To summarize, Forrest by decision, Schaub by KO, Anderson by KO.
Can't Shoguns sponsor get him anything new to wear?
