yeah, it's a shame that his sister got kidnapped and it probably played a big role in him having some so so mma years , not that there shouldnt be hope, but after 7yrs i think it's unlikely she'll just pop up.......id kill the ****ers who did it myself, cant imagine how he feels

Yea the look in his face towards the end of the video was quite sad. Im a fan of both Belfort and Silva, so no matter how it turns out we will have a good champ. May the best man win.

@Joey....same, I like both the fighters so to me it doesnt matter who wins as long as its a good fight but due to the long lay off and surgery I'm picking Silva

i cant remember what fight it was but he went to the octagon wearing a t-shirt with his sister face on it and i dont think she had been missing long. Bastards, he could have paid a ransom but **** knows what happened. She must be dead which is a huge waste but he talks almost like thats just how rio can be. Very sad.

just to clear this up, i read it all in an interview lately where he spent most of it talking about religion and his sister.

She went missing a few days before one of the Couture fights. He went ahead with the fight as he thought it would bring more attention to the matter.

no randsom note was ever sent to the family

in 2004 a woman was arrested in connection with the kidnapping. her body was never found but she has legally been declared dead.

it's tragic and i respect Vitor all the more for still getting out of bed each day, despite what happened

True that Dan. and yeah it was the Couture fight where he wore the t with his sister on it. something like that would torment any man, and I have mad respect for Vitor in continuing his fighting career!

I recently read the same interview I believe. Or something close. It was in Fight! Mag, or Ultimate MMA Mag.... One of those. I buy those, as well as Fighters Only and UFC Mag, but I know it wasn't either of the last two I mentioned. Its terrible to think what she must have suffered thru.

He deserves the title more than Silva.

Everytime I hear Vitor speak I'm amazed!

Usually what you expect to hear from a cage fighter with so so education is to hear a lot of retarded comments about "respect" as if we were on the streets, that he is following the path of God by destroying his opponents, etc etc.

Vitor destroys that stereotype entirely! what you hear is the words of an athlete/fighter who is humble enough to make self-critisism, shows us his human side in an honest way, not for publicity, generally another great human being who's chosen that for his profession and is fully aware of who he is and where he is.

This is the kind of fighters I want to represent my favorite sport! All the wishes for your fight against Silva Vitor....you defenetely deserve them!

I hope he smashes the shit out of silva.

Dont get me wrong I think silva is a fantastic fighter but he has become way too complacent and maybe getting beat will bring back the best of him.

Either way hopefully it will be a great exciting fight.

I predict a TKO in the third round if not a flash KO in the first opening minute for Vitor.
