The real title should be Dana white made 5 times more then all the fighters combined on tuf 14 finale excluding f brothers and abu dhabi.... this is what's gonna kill a sports... Go head week this the only thing your getting out of it is helping the ufc with this oppression...

bisping deserves it, he is the number one fighter in the U.K, and attracts poeple too watch him fight, coz they all hate him. and he has had so many ufc fights within his career. They must of offered him a big pay day to fight a lower ranked guy like mayhem..

Deserves it? its amazing how Dana can pay peanuts to some great fighters and yet throw money hands full to overrated fighters like Bisping just because he uses him to get into another's country market.

and yeah they always pay him big checks to fight lower ranked fighters because thats all he does , fight lower ranked fighters

and when he does fight worthy fighters he gets his ass kick

    Wanderlei and Hendo

lol wanderlei. That fight wasn't exactly a blowout but i know it's the style to hug the knees of ex-pride champs(shogun, fedor, hendo)

Fighters in general should get paid more, but you know the REAL reason you hate on bisping so much is because americans were so butthurt by how bad he made the US look on that season of TUF.

What's he gotta do to get some love? Steroids and a pen time?

Bisping should fight another lower quality fighter in Sonnen...and beat him...thus closing the chapter on Chael "hype your self Sonnen" but i dont think thwere will be much left of Sonnen after the munoz fight.

This type of injustices make me sick , amazing how fighters even Champions who been fighting the best competition get paid barely 40k

look at Champions like Cruz , Aldo , Frankie they get paid no more than 100k Cruz and Aldo make barely 30k .

Guys so talented as Bendo , Pettis , Condit , Ellenberger , Joseph Benavidez , Cerrone, McDonald , and many many more! make less then 50K many need jobs between training Camps.

Embarrassing and sick to read this type of shit.

Not even big names like Shogun , Machida , Rampage, Cain , JDS make this kind of money.

That doesnt mean Bisping got too much...it means they dont get enough....fighters have a limited shelf life and have to take everything they can in the time they have.

Honest to god every single other round before the Miller/Bitchping fight was more exciting than there fight altogether. Even though Bitchping expressed how he wasnt ready for Anderson they should just give him the shot anyway for our viewing pleasure. Dont be scared homy! hahaha

Spitsbing and Dana are secret lovers, jk but this really irritates me, most ex/champions don't make this money.

This is bullshit, what has Pissbing earned to make Silva's $$?

It'd be a total different situation if fighters as good as Michael and better earned this paycheck like they deserve.

Sad to see guys busting their but off being a full time athelete and having to take side jobs.

He puts asses in seats. People tune in to see him either beat people up or hope that someone else will "Hendo his ass". He helps expand the market for MMA in Europe, which in turn brings in more money for everyone. He's a solid fighter who throws a lot of punches and isn't afraid to mix it up. No extended clinch, no lay and pray, just good old fashioned fisticuffs. People actually like that on occassion I hear. On top of that, he's pretty good at promoting fights, which draws even more PPV sales.

If you're claiming however that fighter salary should be based purely on record and achievement, I'd say a better question is this: How is it that at UFC 81 former HW Champ Frank Mir made 80K + a 40K win bonus, whereas Brock Lesnar made 250K... in his UFC debut?

For all those complaining Bisping got too much, you should be complaining the others didn't get paid enough. A pro boxer earns far more. Also bear in mind Bisping went without fighting for a while to do TUF so he could have been more active getting more paydays had he turned TUF down.

Don't blame Bisping for the disparity and hate on him. That is childish and ignorant. Bisping don't write his own paychecks, Dana does.

the worst was james toney getting 750k for his minute long fight with randy...

but in away i think its on the fighters. they gotta get agents and negotiate better contracts. Start a fighters union or something.

It's a sad reality how fighters need to pretend that they are in the WWE to get paid more, but hey, being entertaining is what attracts the casual fan. And let's face it, the casual fan is the majority that watches this sport. Sad but true.

Lets not feel sorry for any of these fighters....

They are offered a contract and voluntarily sign on the dotted line...Noone is forcing these meatheads to fight. These guys don't compete they try to brutalise their opponents with broken limbs, knockouts, ground and pound and then attribute any winnings to the backing and support of god....because this is what these meatheads believe...then when they lose they go all quiet on the god thing.

UFC has offered all these monkeys bigger money...In the old pub promotions these guys would get $2000 to fight and were still thinking life was great...pay a million then they want 2 million...

PPV, sponsorships all prop these guys up with salary so you cant just look at salary...

put the violins down all you homos

Big Dana white is the alpha male, making millions of these punch drunk fighters....He must go to bed thinking, im so lucky to have a workforce of dumb ****s who want to beat the shit out of eachother and make me mega rich

You lost me at "meatheads," but I agree with your first 2 sentences.

The free market reigns supreme. If these guys don't want to fight for $8k, they can go elsewhere. If they can't get paid higher elsewhere, then this is what the market is telling them they're worth. If fighters don't want to fight for this amount of money, they can choose other professions.

People hate him, watch his interviews. They watched all 3 times he was on TUF. They watch every time he fights, because they want him to lose. What it comes down to is this.

Michael Bisping is kind of a big deal. People know who he is. He has many leatherbound books and his apartment smells of rich mahogany.

I got a little carried away there, but the point is, Big Name = Big Money.

Nobody complained when Cung Le took home 300K...for a loss...in his UFC debut, because people don't hate Cung Le. They know who he is, for a different reason then Bisping. But the point is, people watch him, and that's worth something.

The Bisping purse is pathetic considering it took him 3 rounds to finish a fighter that gave up basically at the end of the first round.

I could have finished Miller faster, and in more dramatic fashion.

Neither fighter should have made a dime in that fight, it was a disgrace.

I think it makes perfect business sense. At the end of the day whether you rate him or hate him. Fans and Media talk about him all the time and inevitably want to watch him fight. He brings the hype, sell tickets and gets people watching.

Dana is not stupid. You pay people like Bisping that kind of money because he is worth it whether he is a champ or not.

I agree with the posts that the underpaid fighters (not necessarly on this card but guys like Aldo and other top ranked low paid fighters).

The thing is the best fighters are full time fighters. Many don't have high priced endorsements yet. They have a lot of expenses over months leading up to the fights.

As a self employed person I know they have to plan for retirement, sick / injury time. They have equipment, nutrition, entourage, gym and trainers to pay for. You can easily imagine that if you travel like GSP or set up a camp at altitiude or in another country that costs are high. Imagine 30-50% overhead costs and then think about what is left on an annual basis for family.

You should be talking about Mike Goldberg...

Because if mike goldberg can interpret fights with all his predictable bullshit, then the mma community can say whatever they like....

The UFC hires joe rogan who is the bomb at interpretting fights on a technical level..Then each mma fight we have to listen to ****knob goldberg....Goldberg sucks up to rogan like a homo because he knows he is a dumb shit...Rogans back must be aching from having to carry the homo around

    people are frustrated dude...
