Kyle Kingsbury continued his winning streak inside the Octagon, this time defeating the Brazilian heavy-hitter Fabio Maldonado via a Unanimous Decision.

Kingsbury had a strong opening, landing a series of bruta knees and leg kicks that hurt Maldonado. But the Brazilian had a plan of his own. Maldonado responded with vicious punches to the body, and simple, but still perfect 1-2 punch combos. Maldonado's striking continued to hurt Kingsbury in Rounds 2 and 3, but TUF 8 contestant managed to stay busy, and continued to score points, mostly thanks to a successful takedowns attempts.

In the end, all judges scored the bout 29-28 in favor of Kyle Kingsbury, but I wouldn't be surprised if this decision went the other way. Despite losing to Kingsbury, Maldonado proved he's a serious threat for any fighter in the UFC 205 division. He lacks the necessary physique to go toe-to-toe with muscle balls like Kingsbury, as a move down to Middleweight could be a reasonable decision for the Brazilian.

this fight would be so hard to judge, i am bias towards Kingsbury just cause we went to school together, but i thought Maldonaldo won the 1st and 3rd round, i havent rewatched it yet

Just because Kingsbury eye flared up didn't mean he lost, in my opinion staying active and in there with 1 eye makes his performance even better!

Anybody else notice he was super fresh and looked great at the start but as soon as he escaped the guillotine he changed?
