Damn. I was seriously waiting for some wizards and some sword fighting to show up in that spot. Fan-f@#king-tastic. It looked more like a trailer for a sequel to '300'.
hoho does this look like that movie 300 to anyone? excellent, MMA's going mainstream. I'm not sure that's too good though, UFC's making now fights that people want to watch and not fights that make much sense, just look at Mir vs. Cro Cop. That makes NO sense, yet people want to watch it.
I am not sure how you have come to the conclusion that it does not make sense. It actually makes more sense than the previous bout. In fact, your statement would be more valid if it were still the originally scheduled fight because that was a rematch that fans wanted to see, but Mir is coming off of a tough loss, whereas Lil' Nog is on a 7-fight win streak, including his two UFC fights. The match with Cro Cop makes more sense because, though Mirko is also on a win streak, this is s solid step up in competition for him. A win over Mir would solidify his place in the HW ranks. For Mir, a match with someone who is not currently on top of the division is in order due to his loss and will give him a chance to get back on track. The fact that fans are excited to see it is just an added bonus : )
Yea, you are right... I was thinking of Lil' Nog. Which is kinda silly seeings how his name itself should serve as a reminder. With that said, it makes him even more incorrect because they are both coming off loses to top competition : )
No man are you kidding me? Please check wikipedia or something like that and see what kind of opponents did Frank Mir beat in his past and what kind of did Cro Cop. He's NOWHERE CLOSE to be on Frank Mir's level. He's been struggling in UFC every since he came here, even Joe Rogan said they gave him someone that Cro Cop was suppose to beat in his UFC debut. He has zero ground game, whereas Frank Mir is dominant. Cro Cop also noted that this was on 5 week notice. This bout makes no sense, really. It's silly, the only thing interesting here is Cro Cop himself and his fanbase, that's all. Because of his past achievements people like to see him fight, but he's SOOOOOO over his prime, it hurts to watch him. And yeah, look into some Cro Cop interviews, he said it himself that only money motivates him and that's the worse kind of motivation a fighter can have, so.
First, excuse me for mixing up the Nogueira brothers. However, what you are saying about Mir is exactly why the fight makes sense man. Even tho Mir is a top caliber heavyweight, generally when someone is coming off a loss they fight another guy coming off a loss. Hence the rematch with Nog. Instead, they respected Mir enough to replace Nog with someone coming off a win. A victory over Cro Cop will put him back on track.... For Mirko, this is a solid step-up in competition following his win over Barry. A win over Mir will solidify his place in the HW ranks. Its a win-win for both guys. And like I said before, the fact that the fans are excited is just an added bonus. You seem like a smart guy, how can that not make sense to you?
true that bud, true that. But take into mind frank mir is a douchebag and thinks he can outbox the world because he rocked cheik kongo. If he goes out and tries to stand with cro cop he wont do well, hes to over confident and self indulged to go with his best attributes with bjj
Different qualities? I am just saying, Mir LOST his last bout. Now he has to WIN a bout before he can face contenders. As far as who Cro Cop has and has not defeated... Again, thats the entire point!! Because he is coming off of a win, he gets to step up his competition!! Listen, thats like saying that your favorite football team shouldn't have to play anyone who did not make it to the play-offs last season because they made it to the Superbowl and it doesn't make sense for less successful teams to get an opportunity to beat them. Besides, you said we must look for different qualities in match-ups, but I thought this was about what makes sense? In fact, you said its been more about what the fans want, but obviously not because you seem pretty unhappy : )
you should try watching fights rather then just looking on wikipedia for results. Cro Cop has as much of a chance to beat Mir as Koscheck does beating GSP.....well wait no...Cro Cop has a slight better chance at beating Mir =]
if i was a fighter i wouldnt mind being on Koschecks team at all. He is a great well rounded fighter with very good cardio. Plus his assistant coaches are all top level trainers...javier mendez, dave camarillo, bob cook, dan cormier, these guys helped make fighters like BJ penn and cain velasquez
He may look clownish but he has a legitimate chance of beating GSP. Gonna be a Hughes/Trigg type fight. Sweaty men rolling around on the mat, my favorite

thats an epic promo
Looks like freaking twilight lmao

you need to crack open a book some time -.-

Look man, Cro Cop has wins over:
Eddie Sanchez - who? had only 2 fights in main card
Mostapha Al-turk - dude had 3 fights in UFC, lost all 3
Anthony Perosh - same as above, no wins in UFC
Pat Barry - strangest fight in UFC history; guy knocks him down and watches him, that's not MMA, that's kickboxing.
THAT'S IT. And now he faces FRANK MIR, the man who won UFC heavyweight championship.
If this makes sense to you, OK. I guess we're looking for different qualities in bouts.

This is all I'll say about this subject: if you honestly believe cro cop can win, then I feel sorry for you.
We'll discuss this further after september 25., when Mir wins.
When did it become about that? Hmmm.... Nvm I should have known.

I was waiting for Storm from X-Men to pop up on the top.
That was sexy as hell. No homo.
That was a fukin dope promo. Cant wait!
How bad would it suck to be on Kos's team. Maybe he will end up being a Tito Ortiz as a coach but I am thinking he will be more of a Ken Shamrock.

i would rather be on kos team than pierre, more action and shit talking on his side and less nice family guy on pierre side
awesum trailer
st pierre will beat him again...sorry but josh koscheck is just a clown.
He may look clownish but he has a legitimate chance of beating GSP. Gonna be a Hughes/Trigg type fight. Sweaty men rolling around on the mat, my favorite
