However voted no is because they do not want GSP to lose his belt...

Lmao.....GSP will completely molest Diaz. Diaz will give a lot of people trouble, I voted no, but eh might as well unify the titles right? Diaz's weaknesses are leg kicks and wrestling with good top control. GSP mixes everything up perfectly, Diaz has a little more of a chance then Shields but still not close

Shields has the better chance of the two but Diaz could give GSP as good a fight as anyone else he has faced if not better.

Just like Daley was going to KO him it seems that every time this guy fights doubters keep questioning him and he keeps proving everyone wrong.

GSP is the most boring champ to watch. If he stands with Diaz he"ll get "pitter-patter" ktfo, but we all know GSP goes for his takedowns, then laynpray. GSP is the best in mma for knowing how to stay out of fights.

Voted no because he has no business fighting for what he hasn't earned. Fight Thiago Alves. Run through him, then maybe. He still might have to face Shields in the UFC which his chump ass said he would never do.

I voted no because he has not earned it yet.

I loved the fight last night--and Daley standing with Daley--and defeating him standing was sweet.

But I want to see Nick fight Fitch, Alvez or Penn next, and earn his way to the top. I think a Diaz vs. Alvez fight would be wild.

If Nick can get by the same fighters GSP had to beat on his way to the top, then he deserves to take on GSP. Even Shields had to get by Kampmann--though I think he should have had a tougher test--but I did not complain too much since GSP has run out of contenders which he has not already fought.

I would say yes...Diaz is the man, puts on exciting fights everytime he enters cant think of a single boring fight and not to mention he is on a 10 fight win streak stopping 9 of his 10 opponents....only thing is that I would love to see him fight one pure wrestler b4 he takes on GSP just to see how he would do against a wrestler like Kos/Fitch etc

Since Fitch pulled out of the fight with BJ I think Diaz and BJ make since and would be an awesome fight

Diaz is a great fighter but in my opinion does need atleast one fight in the UFC before taking on GSP the best welterweight in the world!

Yeah agreed, needs one fight in the UFC before challenging for the belt. I say give him Condit, that fight would be great.

I don't think so. He is the Strikeforce Champ. It would be a massive slap in the face to Diaz and Strikeforce to make him earn his way up with a tune up. Champ against Champ. Thats the draw.

    RETARDED poll as phrased!

ALL of Cesar Gracie's camp ( especially Nick, Nate, Gil, and Jake) have said repeatedly they would NEVER fight one another.

unlike most camps, these guys are very close in age and ALL have trained as brothers with one another going back YEARS!

Cesar's camp is NOT a rotating camp of comers and goers like Jackson's!

If he's the number one contender, then he is the number one contender... Whether he takes the fight or not, its up to him. The poll asks fans if he "should" fight the winner. Its a hypothetical question anyhow... Try to relax : )

Then they miss out on the option of advancing (save Nate, whose got a future). These guys don't advance as the Team advances. It's every man for himself. Even if Shields wins, isn't Nate a WW UFC fighter? He's gonna back down from a chance at the title because Shields has it?

Who should be ahead of Diaz who hasn't already lost to GSP (not including Shields since that is on the agenda). If Shields loses to GSP, Diaz would love an "avenge his brother" fight.

It's easily the biggest fight the two promotions could do together.

You were making the case and I was seeing your point but.... then you brought up Brock. Leads me to believe you are drinking heavily haha. Diaz has been considered pretty good for longer than Jacare and Gil. I'd love to see Overeem and Cain of course but Overeem hasn't done much lately to make that more exciting than Diaz and GSP.

Haha I don't think we ever agree. I saw your point though. I just like to joke around a lot. I would actually like to see a bunch of matchups between the promotions. Of course after that fight last night, I was so pumped about the fight I've been wanting for a long time. Diaz and GSP!

He's good, but there are other welterweights in UFC that can dominate that Strikeforce division. Ex: Alvez, Koscheck, Fitch, Penn, and others. He should at least fight one those guys first.

Nick has to work on checking or countering those leg kicks. Put him up against Thiago Alves. If he wins, then let him fight the title holder in the UFC.

Just like he was going to get pick apart by KJ if he would not take the fight to the ground, or was going to get Ko by Daley right?

it would be better than most fights strikeforce can make for him (giving him woodley? lol), but i'd do diaz-fitch at the end of the year to see if he deserves it first

I agree Fitch would be Diaz but that would take the steam out of a Champ vs Champ fight. No, it has to be Diaz vs GSP

If GSP beats Shields then Diaz is perfect to fight GSP!

Diaz has great stand up and if GSP wants to take him down Diaz Jiu Jitsu

will be a factor! im not saying he would win , but at least hes a real

    contender for GSP after Shields

I like what Diaz said about bringing in the yellow card system like they had in PRIDE so Fitch and Kos would have to try something(anything) else to get a win other than staying on top of someone if they did do that some fighters might be out of a job and if they did that then there is NO WAY Fitch could beat Diaz. Diaz vs GSP makes way too much sense and would be a great fight I am a huge Diaz fan always have been but i dont think he could beat GSP would be awesome to see him try though.

Diaz has a better chance than no standup Shields and i think he would make GSP fight wherever the fight goes and would come out with that belt
