St. Pierre: I am going to fight Hardy like nobody has fought him before

It seems weeks of remarks and snide comments about Gsp's "suspect chin" as well as his TKO loss to Matt Serra, 1 of only 2 losses in his entire career, have taken their toll on the Canadian Welterweight Champion, and arguably number 1 p4p fighter in the world;
“It's hard to become champion. And it's even harder to stay champion. Right now, I'm the target. Everybody want to take my place. I know what it takes to be champion and I don't plan to let go of my title anytime soon. I'm not fighting to be champion anymore. I'm fighting for a legacy. Even if I believe I'm a better fighter than Dan Hardy, the night of the fight, I'm going to have to fight the best fight because if I don't -- it might be a bad night for me.”

This fight marks GSP's first fight since UFC 100 9 months ago when he pulled his groin in a 5 round fight with then number #1 Contender, Thiago Alves.

Looks like GSP is determined as hell, gonna be a short night for Hardy.
Ppl really underestimate Hardy in this fight, he's got a few dangerous weapons vs GSP : A solid chin, great counter punching and power. If george sits on em for 5 rounds it wont help Hardys' chances, but if he can tag GSP once, he could pull off the upset, stranger things have happened.
I like GSP a better fighter ,but you were right looking at the way Hardy fight he has the weapon and didn't mean compare him similiar style to Aderson Silva counter punch and power
Hardy is going to be overwhelmed. The guy has not fought anyone near GSP's level. His last two fights were decisions, one being a split and neither of those dudes have ever really been contenders. Hardy is going to get bulldozed. I don't think he ever deserves the shot at this point. He should have had a few more fights. He might have the tools to beat GSP one day, but not at this point.

GSP your too humble lol. He always says "this will be my toughest opponent" but its the right mindset for a champ to have and he will never forget the Serra incident, he took him lightly.
lol i no, he just says "this will be my toughest opponent" just so he doesn't sound cocky, but i think GSP is going to blow thru Hardy, I think GSP is going to either fight Fitch (if he beat Alves) or Koscheck (If Fitch loses and he beats Daley) next
People need to stop talking about how Hardy has got punching power or knockout power or w.e, didn't BJ Penn have good stand up? didn't Alves have knockout power? GSP dominated both Alves and Penn, GSP is going to turn this match into a wrestling match like he did against Alves and Penn and will win
In other words 'i'm gonna take him down and hump his leg'. GSP is an outstanding wrestler with good stand up but apart from that he wins fights in quite a boring fashion, and yes winning is winning but i wanna see a bit more from a champion. Vote weak nut-huggers if you want but you know i've gotta point :)
100% true i dont like gsp too much because he is boring he literally laid on top of alves for five rounds so i would like to see hardy win but im sure gsp will get the decision
Shit ill vote sharp for that just because me and 2 of my friends are the only people who dont like GSP out of our group of friends. They all say why dont you like him hes such a BEAST, and i think to myself hmmmm youve seen one fight with him and you fall in love with him because he wins a big match and that was the 2nd BJ fight and i said he is a boring ass fighter. Matt Hughes made their fights interesting because he could grapple with him and push him off and serra made his fight exciting because he KOd him and im hoping that Hardy will do the same thing Serra did idc if he loses right after hes in my top 5 welter weight fighters.
dude, what do u expect him to do, stand with someone who has knockout power? it may not be the most exciting thing, but GSP does what it takes to win. his last 2 opponents were stand up guys who he'd be stupid to try and outbox. watch his fights before those though....

GSP has had some great finishes but since he's become champ he's more worried bout losing than focussing on winning. He was a beast in those fights you mentioned but he's lost a bit of killer instinct, as he said 'i'm not fighting to become champ, i'm fighting to remain champ'
Yer absolutely right, but it seems like no one can criticise GSP nowadays without a bunch of ppl goin apeshit calling you a hater etc. even if your criticism is legit. I agree His fights are boring lately, his game plan is totally predictable. So fuk it I'll be the one person who gives ya a sharp vote ;)

To be honest, I would lay on somebody for 25 minutes to make $250,000, wouldn't u? A lot of people have said in the past that the only thing he did was lay on BJ Penn, and I have to disagree. Yes, the Alves fight was very boring, but he stood with Penn for a lot fo time in their fight and he owned him in the stand up. Someone said earlier that Dan Hardy's last 2 opponents weren't even close to being a contender for the title. That's wrong, because when he foguth Mike Swick, if Swick would have won, he would have got the title shot. He was the #1 contender at the time. But besides that, this will be a tough fight for GSP, but he has fought a couple of guys who have just as much power as Hardy, if not more.

4SURE GSP will let Dan come in than BOOM take his ass to the mat. Gsp is a good striker BUT his wrestling is what separates him from the pack. GSP is too smart to let Hardy bang with him. I see GSP GnP'ing to a win.
Honestly that is exactly what GSP says before every fight, to say that it means Hardy's trash talk has gotten to him is an enormous exaggeration to say the least.
