Shogun Rua trained in Brazil to develop a "Secret Strategy" for Dan Henderson fight

Rua explains that his decision to train in Brazil, as opposed to Kings MMA in California, was made in hopes of remaining secluded and keeping his strategy a "secret." Photo: Francis Specker

"Dan Henderson is a great fighter, he defeated my brother, but that's not the reason why I want to fight him. I want to fight him because of the great fighter he is, because of the challenge. ... I stayed away from home training abroad for three months before the Rio fight, and in reality, it's not easy to be, for that long, away from family, your own culture, your own system, and your own people. It was too soon for me to stay two months away from family and all that again. So, decided to train in Brazil, where I had a great structure and great training with my academy. For this fight in particular, I preferred to do a more secluded training, so I can keep it more secret and work more on the strategy side."

I say since their both pride champs let's bring back pride rules...soccer kicks!!
in that case dan is getting his head stomped.
Henderson will require some sort of secret strategy.
Shogun was looking pretty dang good hitting those focus mitts. The way he went from tapping them at first, to slowly turning up the tempo until it got a little scary for me; the crowd seemed to appreciate it as well.
H bomb to the doom...and down goes shogun
Hendo is in trouble....shogun has been doing secret ninja training
I don't think he's developed a "secret strategy" as such, he's just saying that it's more secluded and therefore easier to keep his strategy quiet while he trains. This is one of those fights that should have happened back in Pride which makes it all the more interesting. It's still a great match up now but very hard to pick a winner, for me anyway. Hendo is capable of KOing anyone, 'IF' he can find his target, which he seems to have become good at lately but Rua is a vicious striker that utilises punches, knees, elbows and heavy kicks and is capable of KOing an opponent with any of them. Rua will also have the better Jiu Jitsu but Dan will have his wrestling. I'm going to put it out there and go with Rua by decision........
shogun will be the first man to KO dan hendo !!! LEGGO SHOGUN
