Well I agree that his leg kicks will be his most important weapon, if he can avoid the takedowns and land a few hard leg kicks the fight will quickly favor him more and more.

Jones got an 8" reach advantage on Rua! thats ALOT he should use that...i think Jones should do take downs and Jabs like GSP did with Kosh and dont let Rua close the distance, if he does then take down, Rua should try to be unpredictable, surprise Jones with take down attempts to close the distance and do what he does, either way its going to be a wonderful fight, Jones vs Rua wayy better than Rashad vs Rua...going for Rua, but if Jones wins i cant be mad the guy has skills

I agree, the punch power recorded of Cain was very high but his performance against Kongo made him seem like he was not much a better puncher than my girlfriend. AS probably doesn't have Shoguns power but he can hit that little itty bitty spot where it hurts far more often and so he can often drop people that have never been dropped with less power than others would need.

Cain had the hardest punch but they haven't had guys like Carwin, Kongo, Overeem, Liddell on the show and as far as can remember they only tested punches before this from MMA fighters.
I like Shogun, I just feel his only real impressive victory lately was against Machida and the rest have been iffy. I respect both these fighters but I am giving the nod to Jones due to shoguns lack of recent fights. If Shogun had just fought 3-6 months ago I might give the nod to him. I don't care who wins this fight though as it really is interesting to see where each stands and how they will perform.

The reason that it is so powerful is that he throws his whole bodywheight into it, notice how his supporting leg is way behind him when he connects. In a fight you need to be a bit more steady, but this dispalys excellent technique which translates to the way he would kick in a fight. I am sure Jones as worked hard at avoiding those kicks.

Probably because most of Shoguns fighting was done in Pride & the majority of fans are all UFC fans & probably never seen much Pride!
Greatest loss to MMA was Pride. I have every event & watch them over & over. Still saddens me that i'll never see another Pride event again :(
