Rich Franklin: If given another shot, I could defeat Anderson Silva
Posted on April 1, 2012, 02:24 PM by Joey SantosusUFC veteran and former Middleweight Champion, Rich Franklin, who will meet Cung Le at UFC 148, discusses his opponent, as well as his future at 185-pounds. Franklin says that he is not opposed to a third encounter with division kingpin Anderson Silva, and reveals that, if given another opportunity, he believes he could dethrone "The Spider."
Rich Franklin (Begins at 2:28)
"We talked to the UFC, my manager and I, about going back down to 185-pounds, and they were hip to the idea. So, from that point on, I started thinking about 185, and then they actually came to me about Cung Le as an opponent - a bit of a surprise to me. My thoughts on him is that he's very unorthodox, quick kicks - I definitely don't want to stand in kicking range. ... I'll gameplan him in the upcoming weeks. Obviously, this is going to be a fight about distancing for me.
If I was able to put a title run together and the UFC wanted to do another fight with Anderson Silva, I would be willing to do another fight with Anderson. And I believe, and this is just because of the champion mentality in my head, but I believe if given another shot, I could with that fight."

Nope.
He should probably quit while he still has a nose.
That's it Ace don't let two ass whoop'ns detour you from getting that threepeat.
Without even checking out the video... Just with the title of this blog..
NO...JUST NO.....HELL NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...
you know what they say about assuming things
ya never know, he might have filled those holes in his game...like how to avoid Thai clinch and how to get out of it. He has a bit better footwork now also. Rich is a warrior. He hits hard. Maybe now with all previous injuries fixed he can move forward...cool guy.
Franklin: "April fools!"
I'm pretty sure this is an April fools video. Good one Rich!
yea, me too...on any given day, simple fact of reality, mostly lacking in probability, but possible. confidence is a great asset, but not the only factor in a shitty physical world where physics shoves doubt up your ass, haha
time to retire ACE has taken too many shots to the head
nah, 1 more might snap him back to reality, after he wakes up from the dream.
all due respect to a kool guy, but watching silva break him was painful, the look in his face when the life was kneed out of him, you could tell , on the inside, he was beggin silva to stop, it took his soul, not just a ko, but will shriveled up and went away right before our eyes, dont see that too often in a fighters facial response.
He might do better this time, but my heart still says Silva would eventually TKO Rich.
surely rich has fallen so far down the ladder and so many fans are un-convinced that we must be talking about 4 good wins before they'd even consider it, by that point maybe silva will be showing signs of slowing down..
well, think soares claimed 4 more fights before retiring. clock is tickin, 3 impressive dominations , not 4 squeaked vics for a title shot, and he could get the 1 in a million shot of retiring the goat. pretty sure though, he cant beat munoz, chael, bisping, palhares, to name a few necessities.
given another shot I think the result of the fight would be your nose twisted to the other side of your face... damn I think too many fights does affect fighters and the crap that comes our of their mouth...
Its either an april fools...or that bs chaels infected with is that contagious....it already got rashad evans...lmfao!
No Rich; you had your ass handed to you twice, the third times not the charm in regards to the Spider.
Get over it gatekeeper.
@blogcr8er you're a retard for making a title like this...
@allmosteveryposter How about watching the video first?!
Everybody is acting like Rich said it with bad intentions
Seriously what else should he say?!
