New Jersey-native Rich Attonito showed a good amount of skill and patience in his fight against the TUF 11 “bad guy” Jamie Yager at the show’s finale. The two Ultimate Fighters participated at the opening bout of the evening, with Jamie Yager having the control early on. Yager mixed his striking with high kicks, leg kicks and boxing combos to dominate Attonito in the early minutes of the fight.

But as the fight continued, Yager’s hands began to come lower and lower, allowing Attonito to land powerful boxing combos. Jamie Yager’s spirit finally broke down in the middle of the second round, when he gave up his back to Rich Attonito too easily. The Raging Bull needed no special invitation to unleash a Rear Naked Choke attempt, in process of which Yager failed to defend himself from Attonito’s rain of ground and pound.

Steve Mazzagatti stopped this contest via TKO at the 4:25 minutes of Round 2. Rich Attonito improves his MMA record to 8-3, and will probably get another fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Jager needs better cardio or to pace him self better, he looks awesome on a full tank of gas but it was pretty much empty after the first round

Why Does the picks section have Yager winning the fight? Someone needs to correct that

Everyone thought he'd get the KO. He's not a bad kickboxer though.

I knew rich had this, knowing yager had terrible stamina. Based on what I seen in the show, I don't like yager as a person, but the muthafuka can fight...for the first couple of minutes. I mean in those first minutes, dude is entertaining like a fight sequence from a movie, but he needs a battery charger or something to last!

Yager has no heart and you can see the quit in him. When he doesn't land anything big right away and gets hit back you can see him slowly taking himself out of the fight. He doesn't like to get hit and can't set up combo's he goes in all sloppy and wild and doesnt mix anything up...he needs to get to a better camp where he can be taught to set up and be patient but you can't teach heart...he just doesn't belong in MMA. There was no doubt that Rich would win later in the fight

Yager seems like the classic bully if you let him push you around he will kick your ass but as soon as you hit him back you see his true self a coward and a pussy

I actually decided to give Yager the benefit of the doubt and picked him by tko.... Wrong move obviously. I had hoped that it wasnt what it seemed when he quit on the stool... To bad, the guy is a very talented fighter. Talent or no talent tho, if u dont have heart u cant make it in this sport.

u woulda thought that after he embarassed himself on the show that he would have gone to train like ten times harder for this fight to improive his cardio. U'll only see him in the UFC as a marketting tool thanks to his big mouth.. Got another Josh Kos on the way

Dissapointed with Yager to be honest, he looked like a really exciting fighter in the first couple of fights in TUF. Drops his hands when he's tired, fighting basics.

Yager has the athleticism, but he's lacking the heart. He finds that and he'll go far. As for Rich, great fight.
