The last encounter between the two took place in 2006 at the TUF 4 Finale, where Serra defeated Lytle via Split Decision and earned an immediate title shot against Georges Rush St.Pierre. Matt Serra managed to upset GSP at UFC 69, but eventually lost his title in an immediate rematch at UFC 83.
The fight will take place at the famous Conseco Fieldhouse, with another rematch between Frank Mir and Minotauro Nogueira as a headliner. UFC 119 will be the first trip to Indiana in the promotion’s history.

I'm betting that this is going to be the fight of the night
Oh yea I agree with that Ninja. I'm definitely considering taking a trip to Indy.
this will be a completley different fight. both have improved a lot since wen they last met but i think serra will still pull it off
Lytle has never been KO or submit!
2 things Serra is very good at , heavy hands and great bjj
i really can predict the winner of that one , i just know its going to be fight of the night
People always say Serra has great BJJ. But he hasn't submitted anyone in over 8 years. Admittedly, he also hasn't been submitted either, so maybe he uses his BJJ as defence and goes for the KO. But even so, I would be very very suprised if Serra managed to submit Lytle. And I think on the feet, Lytle will take it.
What about Jens Pulver and Joe Stevenson..
oh, crap I thought you were talking about BJ penn, my bad
If Mir doesn't win this one it will be bad for him - 3 straight. I hope he can get psyched for it.
He won Cheick Kongo between Lesnar and Carwin
give serra GSP if he wins.(sarcasm)
