Former Light Heavyweight Champion "Suga" Rashad Evans, who will face rising prospect Phil Davis at UFC 133, discusses his opponent, as well as his ongoing feud with his former Jackson's MMA teammate and division champ Jon "Bones" Jones.  Evans addresses recent comments made by Jones regarding their training sessions and talks about his new camp at Imperial Athletics in Florida.

UFC 133 is set to take place August 6th from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Evans vs. Davis will likely headlined the card, which also features Antonio Rogerio Nogueira vs. Rich Franklin and Vitor Belfort vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama. Photo: Francis Specker

A tautology does tend to be true. So yes, if you're fake, you're fake.

I love that you used the word "Tautology." Also, Rashad's a bitch. Jones shouldn't have said it, but Rashad shouldn't have thrown a temper tantrum about Greg Jackson in the first place.

dont really see how you can call rashad 'a bitch' hes only ever fougt top level competition since breaking onto main card level. griffin, liddell, machida, bisping, rampage.... hes a solid fighter, all be it a bit boring at times. but ever since this whole shit with jon jones has started i see a different rashad, no more nice guy, smilng all the time. he seems heated and determined. and rashad could be one danger bastard is he threw in a little more risks into his game. not saying by any means he would walk through jones but i reckon he'll get past davis comfortably and give jones a run for his money

It wasn't a comment on his fighting style or his game. Rashad is a great athlete, no doubt about it. I can't fault him for anything he does in the cage. It's outside of the cage that he's acting like a bitch. Throwing Greg under the bus, pitching a fit and running off to Imperial, saying Jon's just a phony.

I mean, don't get me wrong, Jon shouldn't have said anything about practice or fighting him or anything. . . then if the fight had to happen according to UFC, it wouldn't have been on Jon's shoulders, but Rashad has totally blown the thing up to new levels by throwing temper tantrums like a child.

Jon was wrong, but Rashad is acting like a spoiled child. He needs to man up and stop acting like that.

umm what about the striking, Rashad is better in that department, not to mention he sets up his takedowns way better than Davis. Rashad will beat him but Davis will catch him up and surpass him in the future.I actually think it'll be better for Davis to loose he's wanted time off to work on his skills for a while now but hasn't had the chance if he wins he won't get that time but he might if he looses.

I see Rashad vs. Phil davis being mostly contested on the feet, with Rashad taking the better of the exchanges.

Ya I agree....Davis has the ability to take Evans down and I think he will but I dont see him keeping Evans down for too long, standing up Evans is too quick and his striking is better so I see him taking it

I think Rashad Evans' jellyfish movement/stance will prevent Davis from taking him down, I see Davis throwing a leg kick and Rashad timing the takedown. Rashad can possibly test Davis' chin in this fight but I think most likely it will end in Decision for Rashad. I like Davis though so that kinda sucks =(

Davis likes to throw kicks, and Rashad likes to dance around in a crouched position with his chin up and his head about 4 feet from the floor and his hands almost dragging on the floor. It's only a matter of time before someone headkicks him.

Davis likes to throw kicks to the body, but with Rashad's weird stance, a body kick is a head kick.

The only way i can see Davis winning is on the ground, but i am going to say the way he dipped and dodged Lil Nog's punches he might be able to sway away from most punches.

Davis won't get Rashad on the ground. Rashad may be the best wrestler at 205 and Davis barely got a single takedown on Lil Nog.

he had some trouble taking down lil nog & holdding him down so i think that rashad will not be taken down often and get better exchanges on the feet and take the decision.

I'm not sure which fight you were watching, but when Phil Davis fought Lil Nog, he took him down 4 times. Lil Nog defended his double leg attempts well but couldn't stop the single leg attempts. Davis is a national wrestling champ; Rashad is not. To say Davis can't take him down is just foolish.

Rashad should probably keep quiet until he beats Davis or he's gonna look like an idiot.

None of this drama crap matters, and at the end of the day Jones will still kick Rashad's ass all over the cage.

As much as I like Davis, Evans is gonna be him in the stand and possibly in the wrestling also. I see this being a decision in favor of evans

Based on what Dana said about the new 5 round ruling being implemented I doubt it will go the distance. I say Rashad finishes him early. He definitely seems way more serious these days even in his broadcasting. Hopefully this translates into his fights(not that he hasn't been fighting well...just referring to an evolution).

I got a feelin that Davis is gonna take this one. I gotta factor in the ring rust and now there's no Greg Jackson to come up with the master plan. I can see rashad getting gassed after the first round and gettin takin down and g&p'd the last 2

What do you think Phil Davis is going to be working on over the next three months?

The answer is obvious: His stand-up, so that he can put his huge height and reach advantage to good use.

I literally see Davis winning this by KO - after which Rashad will move down to 185, and go cryin' to Greg Jackson to take him back.

Are these 2 still bickering?! I like Rashad and I hope for his sake that he beats Davis and gets a shot cos otherwise he'll never get past a revitalized Machida.
