Rashad Evans: If Jon Jones comes into the cage I won't say he ruined my special night
Posted on January 27, 2012, 09:03 PM by Trent ReinsmithIn the days leading up to Saturday’s UFC on FOX 2 the war of words between light heavyweight fighters Rashad Evans and Phil Davis has taken a turn toward the aggressive with both fighters engaging in the trash talk.
As the fight nears both fighters have put the verbal warfare to the side and are instead focusing on the task at hand, getting one step closer to a fight with the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones.
Evans took time out of his training for the fight to speak to MMAWeekly. Evans covered topics such as his early UFC career, his MMA wrestling, how his experience will benefit him and lastly how he would handle Jon Jones stepping into the cage if Evans defeats Davis on Saturday night.

Good luck to Rashad Evans! I really (really) want to see Jones v Evans. Right now, I'm not as interested as in Jones v Hendo and more disinterested in Jones v Davis.... at least for now.
Either way, Rashad gets my vote and good luck for this weekend.... fingers and toes double crossed.
I have always liked Rashad as a fighter. But he says some dumb things sometimes. Hope he wins so he and Jones can square off in the ring and earn each others respect through five 5min rounds.
He does but what elevates him in my book is how good he was compared to Rampage as a coach on TUF. I was impressed by him then.
Rashad looked good against Ortiz. But I think Davis will squeeze out a victory here. In a boxing match I'm positive Little Nog would KO Rashad and Nog couldn't put his hands on Davis enough to trouble him.
This will come down to who's the better wrestler and Rashad is really a beefed up Flyweight (i kid, i kid), so Davis will be able to use his wrestling and physique to push Rashad around.
DAVIS FTW.
I like Jon Jones a lot, I think he is going to dominate for a long time.
And I think Rashad came off looking really immature over the whole "but we were friends" crap.
But he hit the nail on the head this time. If you win/retain a UFC belt, it should take more than your next oppent in the cage to ruin your "special night".
I like rasahd a lot . I hope he wins ,then teah a lesson to Jones
