According to MMAJunkie.com, UFC Hall of Famer Randy "The Natural" Couture (18-10) could be the first one to welcome the former IBF Middleweight Champion James "Lights Out" Toney (72-6-2 Boxing)  to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. The bout is reported to be in works for the UFC 118 on August 28th, what will be the promotion's first trip to Boston.

Couture has expressed his desire to fight James Toney numerous times, as now it looks like the UFC President Dana White has finally decided to give "The Natural" an opportunity to test his skills against Toney. The combined age of Randy Couture (47) and James Toney (42) at the fight will be 89, two years less than Couture's previous bout against the fellow Hall of Famer Mark Coleman.

Meanwhile, Strikeforce officials have announced two interesting bouts for the upcoming "Heavy Artillery" event on May 15th. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu ace Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza will go to war against the talented striker Joey Villasenor, as the legendary BJJ multi-champion Roger Gracie will face the veteran wrestler Kevin "The Monster" Randleman.

Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery will take place at the 22,500-capable Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri on May 15th.

I think ur right and I think he will also eat some g+p from randy. Captain America is very smart and Toney would have a better chance against kimbo tbh, coz randy wont have this fight standing

this is a bad match up!

Randys chin is not good at all!

and Toneys only weapon is his hands!

randy is not a wrestler but a greco roman wrestler meaning he needs to clinch to take toney down! and theres the danger and advantage to toney!

i hope randy can work a good gameplan and take toney down and that will be it for toney ;) go Randy!

randy has wrestled for almost 30 years just because his focus is roman greco doesnt mean he cant shoot a double. i rember in a interview where he talked about competiting in both

randy is a greco guy by trade but that doesnt mean he cant shoot a good double... which he can. randy is better in every aspect than tony bar boxing. as soon as tony throw a combo randy is gona change levels and dump him on his back, add in sum g&p and its over! but yeah of course any fighter can get caught, especially by a pro boxer! but at the same time tony isnt know for KO'n ppl

u think randy has a bad chin u must be joking. And the fact that u think because hes a greco wrestler that he cant perform a double leg takedown is stupid. Randy has allways had a good gameplan so i doubt hes gonna stand with toney

I wish Toney were matched up instead against one of the hungry Heavy hitters in the UFC like Santos or Valasquez...They'd surely take care of business! Only problem, I think, is that they're relatively unknown while the "natural" is a celebrity in the sport and --recently-- on the silver screen...

I think Couture will eke out a win...He may not win in an impressive fashion, but he'll definitely test the mental and physical strength of the boxing champ...

    Ha Ha, thats great.

Well Randy got his wish now its time to prove what he says he can do. The only reason I think Randy could be in trouble is cos he doesnt take a punch that well anymore. But other then that, if he doesnt get caught and uses his wrestling, Toney's D-O-N-E!

I'd like to see Toney KO'ed, but my money's on TKO for Randy and the ref jumping in too early, I just got a feeling about that... Well see

I love this matchup. Hope Couture gets in the inside without getting Koed, once he's there, double leg ground and pound baby, time to shut Toney's big mouth!

But i would still rather see them fight. Cotour is a technical fighter but i think he is boring sometimes.

It's so messed up how Tooney talked himself into the UFC only to get thrown into a 1st fight against one of MMA's most decorated fighters.

Glad to see Joey Villasenor fighting again.

Obviously Couture will win, unless of course he gets caught early, which could happen. With that aside, I think this fight is kinda boring. They definitely could have done something more exciting with this bout. Although, maybe they just wanted to avoid perpetuating a freak show.

Judging from the way the athletes in this sport are evolving to become all-around fighters nowadays, I thought that we'll never have the chance to watch a classic Boxer vs Wrestler match again, like the good old days ;-)

look all i want to say is i do not want randy to be humiliated with a devastating KO they should have given him cain or frank shit someone young who's career mite not die on a single fight. ya digg? i know randy has wayy more arsenal then toney but his hands are deadly andd he has alottta weight behind them. so i just wish it was a better match up thats all. joe silva is slackin.

the only reason this fight is happening is because alot of boxing fans will buy the PPV with Toney fighting Couture... both are legends in their respected sports and it will bring the boxing fans over to buy the PPV. With that said i wonder what the odds are on this fight.

We'll see how Toney deals with a cage & the first time UFC jitters as Randy ducks in for a double leg takedown. If blubber lips hits the ground......poor poor Tooney lmao....if Randy gets caught by a big strike everyone will say "big deal he fought a guy 47 years old" lets see him against Rampage, Shogun or Machida....Shogun would chop those legs to the bone.
