Randy Couture: Michael Bisping has proved he deserves a title shot

I will admit with Maia being a southpaw, Bisping's constant circling to the right will actually help him lol

we've heard it said a million times, styles make fights and Bisping is a dream match up for silva.

@bluntsandbeers: I get that you're trying to just say that Bisping sucks, but I honestly don't think he's a dream matchup stylistically for Silva. Silva likes to bide his time and pick a single winning shot, and Bisping is seldom threatened on his feet from a single strike. Silva's opponents have done half his work for him by allowing him to dictate the pace and range, whereas Bisping is fairly aggressive and jousty. If there is a single strike that Michael has shown a weakness to, it's the overhand right, which Anderson isn't exactly known for throwing. If the fight goes to the ground, Silva's a BJJ Black Belt, but Bisping has never been submitted, the closest time being a guillotine that Wanderlei grabbed on a takedown. Etc, etc.



Not saying that Silva wouldn't win, but he'd actually have to dig into his bag of tricks to switch things up a bit for the fight. And the Silva bag runneth deep.

I'm from South Carolina. Not a likely place for a Bisping fan. But even though I'm a huge Sonnen fan, I do like Bisping, and I do think he's as deserving as anyone. Hell the only real loss he has is to Hendo. I'd rather watch Chael fight Silva because I think he has a better chance. But people don't hate Bisping because of being jealous of Europe. I think England is jealous that they lost the war. Fedor fought a lot of hand picked opponents. And was exposed over the last couple years. Tough guy, but no where near the best ever. I have nothing against Europe. And there are some things about America that I don't like. But I'd still rather live here than anywhere in Europe. If I want history, I can read history books, or the internet. Hell, most of us Americans have plenty of European blood in us anyway. M1 Global sucks.

I think Canada is beautiful BUT I hate the cold, I would go mad if I were in the cold that much. I also work outside in my profession so that's a double no 8P so I guess I have to stay here in the USA. The USA is a VERY diverse place. While I would have a hard time calling Bisping the #1 contender at 185 lb, or put him first in line, if he beats Maia, why not give him a shot? I doubt he'd win, but that's true of most 185ers.

There has been plenty of times when mma fans have been a hundred percent sure that someone is gonna get their ass kicked and it has gone the other way.

I`m with the majority, i don`t think Bisping will beat Silva, but he has been on a legit winning spree and we all know anything can happen in mma.

At some point in Siva`s next few fights we could see age catch up on him, you never know( unlikely, but have seen stranger things happen)

Bisping is a fool, a out of shape and weak miller cant be compared to Maia and he will soon see this.

Well in fairness, what Bisping said basically boiled down to "Maia is a better version of Jason Miller. I'm just a better fighter than Miller, but Maia is more at my level of skill." I think that this is a fair enough assessment while Mayhem's as out of shape as he is.
