Rampage talks about fighting Shogun Rua and Griffin after he gets through the "irrelevant" Rashad Evans

Quinton Rampage Jackson is set to face his arch rival "Suga" Rashad Evan at UFC 114 for the number one contender spot for the Light Heavyweight championship. Rampage feels confident that he will be victorious at UFC 114 and sets his eyes upone Shogun Rua and Forrest Griffin, who have dealt Rampage 2 of his 7 losses: "I want to go get Rashad. Nice warm-up fight, kick his ass. Fight Shogun, redeem myself for my sleep, for my mind. Then go and beat the hell out of Forrest, retire him,” Jackson told us yesterday as he pondered what would be a perfect run for him." Fighting Evans and Shogun seems likely however, fighting the former Light Heavyweight Champion Forrest Griffin seems very unlikely for now: "Only reason is because of the way Forrest acted afterwards, when he knows he lost the fight. You go back and watch the footage when they said he won, he was so surprised. That fight was a controversial fight just like Machida-Shogun 1 was a controversial one,” he says. “But Forrest was the poster boy because of TUF and me, well…” Rampage believes that if he somehow loses to Evans, he does not deserve to get his belt back. Wolfslair product says the UFC 114 could be do or die for him: “I feel like fighting Rashad is a step backwards, because he doesn’t have the belt anymore. But if things go right, this will be a nice warm-up fight for Shogun. If everything works out it will be nice. Everybody knows I took time off, it would be stupid to go right into a title fight with Shogun so this will be a good test for me. If I lose to Rashad I don’t even deserve to get my belt back!” Rampage and Evans will finally face off at UFC 114 as the main event of the night. Other fighters featured on the card are Michael Bisping, Lil Nog and Diego Sanchez.HT: FightersOnly Magazine via MMAMania.com

I don't really care whether his fight with Forrest was a close one or not because in my opinion it shouldn't even be that close in the first place. I thought Rampage was going to dominate Forrest but for some reason.... he did not.

I don't see Jackson ducking anyone. If he did you know Dana would have called him out on it

He would ice Machida like Rua did witrh those big heavy hands and his wrestling would dominate Machida too...BJ Penn had Machida on his back for most of their fight and Bj won that one too in many experts eyes. Know your sheezy before you start making comments in here...

Forrest ate him up with leg kicks, thats about it. His punches didnt fade rampage, although on the ground he showed an edge over him. It was a good fight, I gave it to Forrest.

Look at the state of Forrest's face after the fight and the compustrike stats and you will see why Rampage felt he might have won.

He landed a higher percentage of strikes and more power shots but Forrest threw more and landed more (leg kicks) but a much lower percentage. I can see an argument for either side...but I gave it to Rampage :)

Honestly, I am getting sick of fighters claiming they won fights or should have won fights. Bottom line is they didnt!! If they had, the three licensed judges would have said they did. If it was so close than that is no ones fault but the fighter.

On another note, I think Rampage really wants to say "If I lose this fight, then its full time acting for me!" While I havent seen The A Team yet, I have seen Rampage appear in some low budget films and he was a TERRIBLE actor. With a mainstream film like this I am sure they coached him thru it tho, but lets be real, Rampage was selected for the part because of his resemblance to Mr. T. Anyhow, what I am saying is that a permanent move to show biz, imo, would be career suicide for Rampage. We will see tho.

You are right, it is the fighter's responsibility and no-one elses to win fights decisively so they do not go to the judges, because once the judges score it as they see it there is nothing you can do about it. Anyone who has ever fought for real knows what I am talking about.

Rampage stated that if he some how he loses to Evans, he does not deserve to get his belt back,Evans definitely a big test for him to do or die

.LOL. of course he doesn't have a chance for title shot anymore just like Chuck and Tito, they have to start all over again from bottom

,but if he win 'will be very exciting rematch for redeem and i garanteed

,he will give Shogun alot of troubles.

Rampage is getting ahead of himself here, WAY ahead of himself. Griffin clearly beat him by executing a great game plan, and if he underestimates Evans, it could be a short night for him. It almost appears that he is making his excuses ahead of time, in case he loses, leaves and becomes a full time actor in the near future. That would be both a great loss for the UFC and a great loss for the movie world, because he cannot act for beans. Fortunately for Rampage most "actors" can't act and he will fit in just fine if he chooses that path.

I love Rampage but he chats some bullshit - I thought that Forrest won that fight hands down when you think about it Forrest hurt Rampages leg just as much if not more than when Rampage dropped him in the first round + he attempted 2 submissions and nearly got them both and he dominated the second round and easily won that round 10-8 - Rampage needs to watch what he is saying about Rashad to because Thaigo Silva is a very similar fighter in the stand up department as Rampage and Rashad was clever enough to use his wrestling to dominate that fight - Thiago didnt have a sniff until the final minute of the fight when he had him hurt bad - and the bad news is for Rampage is that when Thiago was took down he was able to get back to his feet quite easily because he is a BJJ black belt Rampage as shown against Forrest he ain't the greatest off of his back - I think Rashad will be clever enough to win this fight by taking it to the ground even though I want Rampage to KHTFO!!!

To think that Rampage ducked Machida is just showing how uninformed you are this point, there has been plenty of info coming out about how Rampage very grudgingly took the coaching job for TUF when he really wanted the title shot.

No one dominated Machida in wrestling!! Shogun connected with a solid punch, other than that he was losing the round-via takedown after takedown exclamation!!! Rampage is consistently showing his age and will be put out/retired soon. He has been an awesome UFC contender/champion, but Father time is calling. This could be his last great performamnce cause if he loses he'll most likely be arrested again for doing donuts on the freeway making 6 oclock news-lol.

What's with people using the argument (concerning the Rampage / Griffin fight) that Forrest lost becuase of the fact he had surprised facial expression afterwards? His face could ****ing explode for all I care I don't see what that has to do with the fight itself. So what. Let him be surprised that he won . . . doesn't mean he lost. I'm sure the fighters are way to intent on the moment at hand to sit and recollect every hit that each guy landed. That's what judges are for . . . sigh.

Rampage is twice the fighter Evans is. Evans can't take half the punishment Rampage can in a fight, as Rampage also likes to say "i can take a lickin' and keep on tickin' " i think that will be a factor. Rampage will use his (under rated) wrestling to keep the fight on the feet and Rashad will get KTFO.......

Rampage is much more Aggressive than Rashad and is willing to Destroy Opponents at well , If the Fight goes to the Ground i'd Give the better ground game to rashad, standing up Rampage has an advange , I say this because Rashad has Excellent Wrestling and Rampage has Excellent Counterstrikes

Pretty Much Rampage will Defeat Rashad because his Striking is Excellent and is on a Rampage, Personally i think Rampage has a much better chance of Deafeting Rua than Rashad, Rampage wants his belt Back and he feels if he cannot defeat Rashad than he doesn't Deserve a Title shot, SO for Rampage this is a Opportunity to test himself Against an Arch Rival like Sugar Rashad evans.

I don't know what Rampage is smokin'. Forrest won that fight, and it definately wasn't controversial like Machida and Shogun. Just saying.
