Rampage Jackson explains missed weight, hits back at Rich Franklin's comments on Fuel TVPosted on February 25, 2012, 05:16 AM by Anton Gurevich
Former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson came overweight at the official UFC 144 weigh-in, hitting the scale 211lbs (5lbs over). Rampage will have to forfeit 20% of his fighting purse to Ryan Bader, who will look to add insult to injury by defeating Jackson in tonight's co-main event.
Jackson, 32-9 in pro MMA competition, will face Ryan Bader in the co-main event of tomorrow's UFC 144 event in Saitama, Japan.
Jackson revealed he had a number of injuries during his training camp for UFC 144, and was unable to cut the required amount of weight. Rampage refused to reveal his "walk around" weight, but still declared that it's the biggest amount of weight he had to cut in his MMA career.
Former UFC Middleweight champion Rich "Ace" Franklin questioned Jackson's motivation, and his ability to rise up to the occasion against Ryan Bader. Jackson said Franklin better stop running his mouth, or he would get "smacked" next time he sees him.
