Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson shared his thoughts about fighting Jon Jones and the recovery from injuries suffered in the fight against Matt Hamill at UFC 130. The fight between Rampage and Jones is expected to take place on September 24th in Denver, Colorado. It will be Jon Jones' second fight in Colorado, after "Bones" defeated Brandon Vera via TKO in the main event of UFC's debut on Versus, which took place at 1stBank Center in Broomfield.

Whoever Rampage's "people" are who told him that Ariel was "hating on him" are ****ing idiots and he needs to get rid of them.

They created a barrier between MMA's best interviewer and MMA's best interviewee... and thus they are bad for the sport.

Ariel is far from being the best interviewer. He lands great interviewees and situations but many times he says misinformed things. In addition to that he's an instigator. It's not just because of what Nick Diaz says :-D ... If you watch his interviews he tends to twist people's words and instigate situations(or at least try). I can agree that he lands good interviews though(in the sense of the types of guests and timing) and I like when him and Rampage get together. It's always funny to me.

i like rampage, i like him alot...but i think he's being a complete arsehole towards ariel, reguardless to what ariel may or may not have said.

ariel is a reporter and has to tell it like it is,sometimes it might be 'his' opinion, sometimes it might be what 'aol' want him to report but the bottom line is,rampage needs to accept critisism especially from ariel as he likes rampage

ariel is being more than a complete gent towards the way rampage is being towards him and ariels not stupid,he can see rampage is being a ****.

oh yeah,JJ is gonna HURT rampage...hurt him enough that i think it'll more or less retire him

I don't know if you noticed, but Ariel plays into the role of the bullied interviewer with Rampage. It brings publicity. You notice he every time they get together he mentions "squashing it?" He knows what Rampage's reaction is going to be and he laughs. Rampage was talking to him and the others throughout the interview. He wasn't getting serious and personal. It's all in good fun and entertainment. Rampage entertains and Ariel plays that role which gives their encounters more press. It's not that serious.

Ariel is not a fighter. What has he done to earn the respect of Rampage? If Rampage is unhappy with the way Ariel communicates with him, then isn't it his perogative not to speak with him?

According to who, must Rampage speak with Ariel. Fighters are living an entirely different mental, emotional and physical life to people like Ariel.... If Ariel didn't want to speak with Rampage should Ariel be forced to speak with him. Just because a fan thinks it is morally right?

This poor Ariel stuff is just nonsense. Perhaps the people taking this position should run for government, after all they seem to know what is universally right and fair.

    Wow!!!

In general, people deserve a certain amount of basic respect. Whether they are a fighter or not is completely irrelevant.

Some people choose not to follow this basic social convention, and instead disrespect people they know little or nothing about. We have a name for those people: assholes.

I'm a big Rampage fan, but I don't see what Ariel did to disrespect him. He needs to let this go.

    Thanks for the feedback,

You are making a general statement about a specific issue.

    - "In general people deserve a certain amount of respect"

    * When according to who do which people not deserve respect?

    * When you say a certain amount, how much is that?

    Q. How would I know to use your calculations?

You then go on to make further generalized statements,

People not following your basic social convention who you see as disrepsectful, who you guess know little or nothing about the other person equals asshole.

Just answer this one question; How do you know who knows little or nothing about a person? Because it is possible that the other person may have researched the other or a whole array of possibilities. Essentially you know little or nothing about the people who you judge using generalized, none specific moral doctrine which you assume is true, in this instance.

Perceiving your generalized statements as true doesn't mean dealing with the truth. You fail to deal with the basic assertion that people are entitled to their responses, people are entitled to their freedom of speech, thought and action within the terms of law. Rampage should be different according to you?

What would you say to his face about this?

Being a fighter has nothing to do with anything. He's fights, it's his job. Doctors, layers, garbage men, all have a job to do and all should be treated with the respect that they outsource.

I think he's just messing with ariel big time,Rampage runs his mouth any chance it gets. But he should respect people regardless if they are fighters or not.If u fight at the top u should deal with criticisme the right way.I don't think he will come out on top against Jon,but u never know. He's got the power to knock anybody out.I only think that Jon is a better technical fighter and will frustrate quinton so he loses his focus .In 3 months we will know.Kida

You are right, he isn't funny - he is hilarious! In addition, Rampage doesn't respect everyone which is fine, you have to earn Rampage's respect. Rampage didn't respect Rashad, but he does after they fought (even though they still don't like each other). Rampage didn't respect Machida very much, but he did after they fought. He respects Jon Jones because of his accomplishments. Just because you ain't cool enough to be respected by Rampage doesn't mean you need to be hatin on him!

Agree, these people need to build up some thicker skin and realize that Ariels job is pretty cool to only have one guy give you issues and everyone else give you praises. He'll be alright and just lagh at how funny rampage is rather than get downbeat because of the jokes and games.

It's at least 3 guys. Diaz, Diaz, and Rampage.

Even Ariel knows he's messing. Like c'mon he gave him the snake eyes and all that crap. Ariel still had his questions answered and it was all in good fun. Man I can't understand why everyone is being so emotional about what rampage does. How do you guys step into the world everyday and come home without your psyciatrists on speed dial for all the abuse you see. This is just one guy giving another guy a hard time and it's FUNNY!

I don't believe it for a second. If he's messing around, he would say that he's messing around and would not make Ariel uncomfortable, he did not do that. You know the saying " in every joke there is a little bit of truth" well this is a perfect example. Rampage is taking advantage of Ariel only because he's a fighter. If you knew somebody who did that when you were trying to have a conversation would you continue to take it? No, you would tell him to F off and stop being a baby. Ariel is trapped in a situation where he cannot do anything about, because of his work and personal position as an interviewer. Rampage knows that, he's got some beef with Ariel but he's not man enough to actually say it, hence he's being rude, inconsiderate and an a hole because he's scared for some reason, a real man would say that i don't like you because of so and so, he would not continue to make jokes.

there are plenty of other people he can interview. If his job calls for it and rampage doesn't co-operate then either his boss will tell him to forget page or he will just have to wait until page decides to quit playing. Rampage doesn't have a problem with telling other fighters what he thinks so i doubt he has a probelm telling ariel wich to me suggests he's just not givin up on the games he wants to play.
