Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson continued his verbal assault on the reigning Champion Jon "Bones" Jones, stating that the twenty-four year old star won't fight him "like a man". Jackson accused Jones' coach Greg Jackson of negative tactics, claiming that his extreme gameplanning ruins the sport of Mixed Martial Arts:

"I guarantee you Jon Jones don't fight me like a man. Just like his boy, his old teammate Rashad. He come from a team, the (Greg) Jackson team is the most boring team out there right now. I have to say that right now. Jackson, man, y'all are some boring fighters, dog. Y'all ruining MMA for me, straight up. All these gameplans and all this stuff. GSP was the man before he started training over there with Jackson. I still like GSP but I wish he would go and do his own thing cause GSP is one of the best fighters out there, straight up. And y'all ruining MMA." - Full audio at Mike and Scott Radio Show (via MMAMania.com)

Jackson is currently on a two-fight winning streak, with decision victories over Matt Hamill and the fellow former UFC 205 Champion Lyoto "The Dragon" Machida. As for Jones, "Bones' is unbeaten inside the Octagon (not counting the DQ against Hamill), with 3 KO/TKO and 2 Submission victories.

The fight between Rampage Jackson and Jon Jones is expected to take place on September 24, 2011 at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado.

Can't really blame Rampage for trying. Figures his only shot is to try and convince Jones to stay standing and maybe Rampage can hit him with a Bomb. Unfortunately for him though I don't think Jones is that stupid. He'll just throw Rampage to the ground and finish it pretty quick.

And just for the record, I'm kinda sick of people saying it's boring when fights go to the ground. There is a reason MMA is huge and nobody watches kickboxing.

Have you seen how big the K-1 world Grand Prix is in Japan??? I think Kickboxing would do great any where if promoted properly. I do agree with yo that Jones will win by TKO and not all fights that go to the ground are boring... just most of GSP's are.

anyone who thinks jones will 'throw Rampage to the ground and finish it pretty quick' clearly underestimates rampages TDD, but then again most people do, including matt hammil, dan henderson and for the most part rashad evans

Rampage was not in shape when he fought Rashad... he was nowhere NEAR the level he's on right now.. the way he moved in the Machida fight already showed he was in better shape.. against Hammil he stepped it up and moved even better... by the time he fights Jones, he'll be Pride Rampage.. just watch.. he's coming for that belt.. no distractions, he's focused he got that killer instinct back and you can see it in his eyes.

there's also a reason wrestling doesn't have a professional level to watch. Because NO1 would pay to watch that EVER

Look at Pride for example. When people went to the ground they were looking for submissions and trying to finish the fight, the yellow card system helped put pressure on wrestlers. That is why you see all of the Pride guys just being taken down and being held down. They seem like they have lost a step, but it's just that the UFC doesn't take away points for stalling.

If Jon Jones finishes him it DEFINITELY won't be quickly. This isn't Hamil, Shogun after an operation(and that took some time), or the janitor here. To finish Rampage he'll have to put in lots of work. Lots :-D

Rampage sounds real desperate to say that, IMO. It's almost admitting that his chances aren't all that good in any other aspect but standup. To put down Jackson's camp is pathetic. Gameplan and strategy is what makes fights, not breaks them. This is a asport, not a He-Man competition. Page is acting real caveman-ish.

Well that is his style. sprawl and brawl with technique. Even though I love GSP, his strategy, and dominance. But I can see where rampage is coming from. He is just displaying his opinion.

No faith in rampage at all guys? rampage has been around the block a few times man, he knows what bones is all about, he might be a joker but he aint stupid, he was the underdog going into his fight with Liddell too, and some people had him down as the underdog against silva purely because of his pride fights. I can see why people are favouring jones dont get me wrong but i think rampage knows what he has to do, he just has to execute on the night. If he can close the distance or work his way inside somehow and land one of those killer hooks, jones will fall the same as any man. I think this is actually gonna be a tough fight for both guys but if rampage is up on his wrestling/takedown defence there's no reason he can't take this fight....

Talk about boring decisions, Rampage...Hamill ring a bell? I'm so tired of this clown. Liked him during PRIDE, but only because of he fought and finished lesser comp and it made him look good. He hasn't finished anyone since Wandy, and that was three years ago. I can't stand his personality, he sounds like a complete imbecile. He was a horrible coach and with every interview, he just looks more and more like a stupid, stereotypical, punk-thug. I truly wonder if he could write a grammatically correct sentence...I doubt it. Have fun squandering your gifted title shot Rampage.

I love Rampage. Seriously, dude doesn't care what people think and knows how to get attention. Just the reactions you guys are giving in the comment box, shows that his tactics are working.

No disrespect Ryan but I don't believe thats a "tactic" at all. He's just an idiot. Whether he's on a winning or a losing streak, he will always be an idiot. He's obviously intimidated and thats why he is resorting to all the name calling and trash talking. Thats his best weapon, not his fighting skills. How long did he trash talk Rashad for before their fight? And then quiet as ever about him afterwards. He's a bully and it's real gratifying to see the bully get smashed. I hope Ariel is in Bones' corner too lol

Rampage is a showman, but most of the time the things that come out of his mouth do not make any sense. He wants to be the tough guy, an action figure. He contradicts himself by calling GSP boring and then saying how great he is. This is MMA, Rampage, not Streetfighter 3. MMA has evolved, whether you have or not, so stop dragging your knuckles on the ground. Fighters use all their tools in the cage. You sound more and more like James Toney everyday.

And if you are calling Jones a "boring" fighter then I love boring because I can't think of a single Jones fight that was not edge of your seat exciting.

Rampage is going to get schooled by Jones, then will probably quit MMA and go on to do crappy "B" movie action flicks, while Jones will go on to become one of the greatest LHW champions of all time.

Jones is anything but a boring fighter. The first time I saw this cat he fought Stephan Bonnar and man did he put on a show! The leverage tosses and spinning-back elbows had me wondering who this kid was that was shooling Bonnar in that cage. I as a fan had never seen this flashy, unorthodox style of fightingbefore, and was amazed that some of these techniques were even working at all; let alone working so well. Bones kept Bonnar off balance the entire fight with this new breed fighter style of combat. The gold " Meat and Potatoes" type of fighting that had served Stephan so well up to this point was being completly shredded by this unpredictable style that Jones was displaying. But that st yle is not so unpredictable anymore. And Jones isn't fighting Bonnar or Hammil, or Bader, or anyone else with a lesser skillset. He's fighting Rampage, and If Rampage can power through some of that flashy technique, and land some hard shots early on, then I think we may be seeing Quinton at the top of the Mountain once more. GO RAMPAGE!

I'll have to agree that Jones is not a boring fighter. For a young guy he has shown extreme talent, backed with great discipline.

Yah the Jackson gym has a lay and prey type of game plan for lots of their fighters, but in reality the majority of the fighters who use this game plan come from a wrestling background.

GSP doesn't just train with Jackson he has other coaches for boxing, Jujitsu etc. I imagine Bones is the same deal.

Not hating on Jackson hes one of my favorite fighters I've ever seen fight. Obviously everyone knows what hes trying to do. I do think Jones will mix it up in the stand up, but this fight will hit the ground as well.

Jones by Submission in the 4th. Jackson will barely have the stamina to make it through the 3rd

Now that i think about it most of Jacksons fighters are great fighters and exciting to watch but GSP needs to grow a pair before we have another "Paul Daley" incident
