Rampage Jackson: Fighting "King Mo" Lawal in Strikeforce is a step down from where I'm sitting

While making an appearance on HDNet's "Inside MMA," former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, responds to a recent challenge extended by Strikeforce 205'er, Muhammed "King Mo" Lawal. Jackson says that he finds Lawal's suggestion that he move to Strikeforce humorous, insisting that, from where he's sitting, that would be a "step down" in his MMA career. Photo: Francis Specker

"It's funny that he even has to talk about me after his fight, and say I should move down to Strikeforce to fight him. I'm sorry, but from where I'm sitting, that's a step down. Why would I want to step down to Strikeforce and fight him, when I'm fighting in the biggest organization in the world? Evidently, somebody asked him a question, because I can tell that they've been reading what he's been saying on Twitter. Like, out of nowhere, he'll just tweet some random stuff.

I wasn't impressed with Mo's fight at all. Yeah, he beat some guy, he knocked some guy out on the ground, but the guy has no wrestling experience at all. I can look at Mo, I'm a fighter, I can tell he was getting tired. If homeboy wouldn't have tapped then, and they had went to the next round, homeboy probably would have come back - because, Mo looked like he was getting tired. I don't think Mo has been in the cage with the best in the world. Even if I'm a 'bum' now, because I lost a fight against Jon Jones, probably one of the best Light Heavyweights in my weight class right now. He can say that all he wants, but that guy has never fought anybody close to the caliber of fighters that I've fought."

Yeah. I disliked him a lot when he was in pride, for being disrespectful on TV, with the japanese women and stuff... But He has been more respectful lately and yeah he is right in this video.

Japanese women love being disrespected by Mr. Rampage.

I can see Rampage knocking out King Mo, then again I can see Mo wrestle banging Rampage similar to how Rashad beat him.

What I can't see is Mo finishing Rampage

Mo does Rampage. I Quinton stuffed a couple of Jones's take downs he would stuff all of Mo's.

Part of my reply got eaten. Mo does not have the ability to beat Rampage. If Quinton stuffed a couple of Jones's TDs then he would stuff all of Mo's

I agree with Rampage on this one. If he goes to SF, it would definitely be a step down. It's a no win situation if he takes the fight. If he wins, it wasnt in the UFC, so it doesnt mean much, regardless of Mo's status in SF. If he loses, it would be terrible for his career.

The only thing I disagree with is Rampage's assertion that Mo hasn't faced competition of his level. I think Gegard would trounce Quinton. I also think that Gegard was having an off night when Mo beat him.

Rampage shouldn't fight him. Queen Mo shouldn't be in the same ring as Rampage until he does something to deserve it.
