Quinton Rampage Jackson dominates Matt Hamill on his way to a Unanimous Decision victory at UFC 130

No surprises in the main event of UFC 130, as Quinton "Rampage" Jackson dominated Matt Hamill on his way to a clean Unanimous Decision victory. Rampage punished Hamill with excellent striking combinations, displaying an improved striking skillset.
Still, Hamill proved he's one of the toughest fighters in the UFC Light Heavyweight division, by withstanding the pressure, answering with striking combinations of his own. The biggest (and the only) surprise was the fact that Matt Hamill failed in all of his takedown attempts. Rampage managed to keep it standing, forcing Matt Hamill to fight according to his rules.
It was Jackson's second consecutive victory since the defeat against Rashad Evans at UFC 114, as the former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion finds himself on the radar for a shot at Jon Jones' UFC Light Heavyweight title. Rematch against Machida could be an interesting solution to the UFC 205 puzzle, with Rashad Evans facing Phil Davis in the main event of UFC 133.

yea he didnt get the KO but i think he should be next in line for the title!!! i mean who else left is there to fight that makes since for rampage?
Maybe the winner of Rua-Griffin, who both hold victories over Rampage. Evans also beat him. Good win tonight, but there are three high level contenders who have wins over him.
worst main event in recent memory, up there with mir vs cro crap
cro crap? show some respect for a legend going out fighting decent competition, which he's done his entire career. also at least cro cop comes out, and is willing to stand and bang regardless of the result.
what fight did you see? that was a pretty damn entertaining main event you can't KO everyone but Rampage sure as hell tried and looked great doing it
Great fight for Rampage, so happy he won completely dominated Hamill stuffed everyone of his takedowns n landed some nice shots....good too see him mixing things up a bit more n I agree with Angeles0 Rampage vs Jones
Good performance by Rampage, but he couldn't knockout Hamill standing for 15 minutes, Jones dominated him in a couple of minutes. Doesn't look good for Jones vs. Rampage
Go suck your dads ****, you fag
Hmm what next for Rampage, if he doesn't get a title shot who's next ? I know a Ko win would have been preferable for the ''HYPE'' factor, but he's been certified top 5 for a long long time now. As for the fight, went exactly how i thought it would. This fight just shows you how good Rashad sets up his takedowns, combing strikes with speed and explosiveness, Hamill clearly didn't have the athleticism or the striking skills to get the fight to the ground.
If Rampage doesnt get a title shot then I see him fighting the winner of Shogun/Griffin
I'd love to see Rampage pay back either one them, preferably Shogun
Quinton stuck to a game plan which worked. I thought he looked a little mechanical in there tonight, he didn't seem to have the flow or movement one might expect from a top 5 contender.
I believe he would benefit from watching re-runs of Marvin Hagler, as a pressure fighter I would love to see Rampage enforce his will and breaking the will of his opponent. Does he still have what it takes?
Matt Hamill
It seemed from the corner footage of Matt Hamills corner, (round one) that there was some disorganization. I don't know about anyone else but, if my corner were that badly organized on the biggest fight of my life, I would be pissed off... There is no room for mistakes at this level, they have a one minute job to do and they get it wrong, Wow!
I believe this was a bad night for Matt and he will come back stronger.
people always use generic terms like enforce will or "control pace" or come out mentally ready. good fight from rampage all he has to do to step it up even more is not thoes generic terms but rather mix in takedowns and kicks
Wouldn't you say that enforcing ones will within a fight is to fight within your preferred lines of entry and exit, with preferred combinations, counters and defense, whilst using your own preferred pace and movement to control the opponent, with the result keeping him off balance and therefore vulnerable?
Using a nominalization saves such specific sentences, people who understand and don't have a problem with it.
I don't agree with your interpretation of what Rampage had to do, why would he want to take someone down who couldn't stand with him?
Thanks for the feedback

yea i see what your saying. your right about someone wanting to fight their own fight i get that and not faing into a patter of doig what your opponent is more prepared for. I just mean rampage fights to hois own strengths which is great but in this sport ive seen the most succesful guys just vary up their offense al the time no matter what their strengths are
Yes Rampage got the win but I really don't think he looked good at all. As someone here mentioned earlier about Jones.....do you know what would have happened to Rampage if he came out against Jones like this? Maybe its because I don't like a page's personality much but I really think his performance was poor. Only decent thing were the takedowns he stuffed but I attribute that more to horrible attempts by Hamil than superior sprawls by page
