Quinton Jackson disappointed in loss to Jon Jones, says sometimes "Rampage" doesn’t show up

Top Light Heavyweight contender Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, who was defeated by division Champion Jon “Bones” Jones at UFC 135, discusses the match-up, as well as his fighting future. Jackson expresses disappointment with Saturday’s loss, but says whoever he fights next is going to be “in for it.”

Excellent spirit… he just messed up by not closing the distance and consistently pressing the fight. He needed to clearly force the issue, and instead stood back and let Jones prepare and fire. Someone will have to completely throw fear aside and charge Jones, atleast until he moves to heavyweight and matches with someone like Dos Santos, I feel Jones v Santos would be a very even match if they were both at the same weight.

he did press the issue. he did keep coming forward. He tried to close the distance but couldn’t. HE’S JUST NOT AS GOOD AS JONES BRO! why can’t you guys admit that??? It’s okay he lost. If they fight that fight 10 times Rampage loses every time………………I’m done. Weak me 23 times ihatejones.com go ahead!!

Rampage sure as **** did show up and put on one of the best performances of his career. He was simply bested by a superior fighter, it`s not any more complicated than that.

Umm did you not see Rampage bullrush Jones at least three times? On of of them, he -literally- ran into the fence. Quit bellyachin, quit excuse-making.

ampage needed to hit the body!!.. he aimed for the furthest most mobile target when his body is in front of him the whole time!.. rampage has great power especially in the first round if he where to focus of body shots early then destroy the head i think he have something going against bones.. im not a eveans fan at all, but he is a really smart fighter and i predict he will beat jones with lighting fast body blows!..

Body Blows? Meaning Evans can get past Jones Fist, Elbows, and Legs? If rampage couldn’t, Rashad can’t either. All this hype about him getting the best of Jones in camp is exaggerated.

And Evans as lighting fast speed? lol

….? Thats an odd assessment. Evans defeated Rampage quite handily. And yes, I realized Rampage dropped him at the end of the fight.

“Rampage” showed up, and “Rampage” got owned, just like Shogun.

He sure as f*ck didnt get owned like Shogun.. but he was slowly picked apart by Jones. I don’t think Jones performance was impressive. However i do think it was very intelligent. He fought like a champ and was smart being cautious and not to get overly flashy. 1 thing that did impress me about Rampage was his headmovement. He dodged all them flashy elbows like he saw them coming from a mile away he was very well prepared for that shit but he was gunshy he did not pull the trigger. He stopped kicking cause like he said he was scared for the takedown and that really limited his game to a minimum. You are not gonna beat Jon Jones as a boxer period…!!! A great kickboxer/muey thai specialist with great TDD like Rampage and a chin like Rampage would give Jones all kinds of trouble though. He has amazing reach but i’m sticking to everything i said before the fight. Jones stand up is NOT that great.. !! He got some cool and flashy stuff and he knows how to utilize the reach advantage and pick his opponents apart, i’ll give him that. but he still needs to improve A LOT in the striking department. Which is kind of a scary thought… cause we all know he will and when he does… Who the f*ck is gonna beat him????

Everyone seems delusional when analyzing who can step to Jones in the division, too many listen to the commentators, try watching the fights on mute so that you aren’t persuaded. To think anyone in that division can step to Jones is kinda sad, he is designed for heavyweight, just as Silva is designed for 205, (physical structure and speed). Until he is matched with similar physical talent, there will be no true competition. Dana White knows this, which is why he talks about controlling the kids destiny, saying things like (Heavyweight is far away, he first has to clear out the division here, theres a stacked division….. total bs)

I too think Evens has a good chance. Rampage and Bones where pretty even in the wrestling department last night. Rampage shrugged off most of Jones’ take down attempts and reversed the majority of dominant positions Jones did get. Jones was only able to out wrestle Jackson when he was worn down, the only exception being standing against the fence in the clinch where Jones had a slight edge. Evens is light years ahead of Rampage as a wrestler and has exceptional foot work as well as much faster striking than either of the formerly mentioned fighters. Bones also isn’t nearly the striker the pundits make him out to be. He has superior reach and utilizes it well. He is NOT Anderson Silva 2.0. AS would have landed the shots Jackson avoided with his excellent head movement because AS has much more accurate striking and much better timing than Jones has.

Come on guys, none of us know what it’s like to be in the octagon facing Jones. It all seems so simple when your a spectator but when your in Rampage’s trunks, it’s a whole other ball game. Good Fight by both fighters.

I’m on fire on weaks? Really guys? What part of what I said isn’t true? Anyone who weaked that didn’t watch the fight.

    Sad. So much buttpain.

Everyone that fights Jones complains about his height and reach being too much to overcome. Need a tall dude with some non-t-rex arms.

Too bad Overeem isn’t still a Light Heavy … He is the only one with the punching skills and almost equal reach to Jones. Reem was a lt heavy up to 2007.

    Jones= 84″

I know everyone will hate this idea but … Chael freakin’ Sonnen might be able to do it if he added some weight. He knows how to handle top strikers that fight at range .. and you know he isnt going to be nervous no matter who he fights.
