Quick Quote: Wanderlei Silva calls UFC 126 Main-Event "50-50"Posted on February 5, 2011, 05:52 PM by Joey Santosus
“It’s a big fight. Perhaps Vitor is the hardest opponent for Anderson. I think this is a very interesting fight. I think this will be a non-stop fight of five rounds and Belfort may get a strategy of giving caution, so we will see who will open the game first, who will start it up. And in a fight, what is fun is that anything might happen!"
“Fighting definitely is not an exact science and sometimes surprising things happen. This is what we wait to happen on Saturday night – that both of them provide us a great fight. But it is hard to say this or that will happen. That’s unforeseeable. I think it’s 50-50. I think that either Anderson or Belfort, knowing the difficulty of matching up each other, they must have trained very well, prepared hard. Now it is time to know who had a more professional attitude and who was surrounded by the best people and got good sparring, good coaches and really is on the prime to go there and make the show."
Ahead of the long awaited Middleweight title clash between division Champion Anderson Silva and challenger Vitor Belfort, fellow Brazilian fighting legend Wanderlei Silva shared his thoughts on the match-up. As a former training partner of the champ and former rival of the challenger, "The Axe Murderer" isn't sure who will come out on top. Silva did, however, assure that he would be cageside for the bout, describing the event as "unmissable."
The Middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and Vitor Belfort will headline tonight's stacked UFC 126 fight card, while veterans Rich Franklin and Forrest Griffin will go head to head in the co-main event. Also featured will be the Light Heavyweight showdown between rising stars Jon "Bones" Jones and Ryan Bader, as well as a Bantamweight match-up between former division champ Miguel Torres and Antonio Banuelos.
