Quick Quote: Miachael Bisping says Patrick Cote is "irrelevant piece of s**t"
Posted on September 5, 2010, 05:21 AM by Anton Gurevich“Patrick Cote is a piece of (expletive). I’ve met Patrick Cote a couple of times. I’ve always found him to be okay, we’ve shook hands and I’ve had no issue with Patrick Cote and then out of the blue, he’s talking (expletive) about me. He’s just trying to make himself relevant again and he’s trying to talk himself into a fight with me, which I’m not going to oblige. I know I’m talking about him now because you asked, but I’ve just distanced it. I think I’m above Patrick Cote and he’s beneath me. He needs to stop talking (expletive) about me and get his arse in the gym and try and win a fight.” - Mirror TKO
It looks like the Wolfslair product Michael "The Count" Bisping is more than serious about his intention to get a title shot. Bisping hits the headlines once again, this time calling out the former UFC Middleweight Title challenger Patrick Cote, who will look to recover from a loss to Alan Belcher, in his fight against Tom Lawlor at UFC 121. As for Bisping, "The Count" will square off against Yoshihiro Akiyama in the headliner of UFC 120 in London, England. Could it be a future match-up? The answer is yes.

This guy is such a tool, its annoying that he can think he represents UK MMA fans,Hathaway and Pearson are the only guys i like from our country to be fair.
well he won the TUF why can't he fly the flag for the UK. I like Bisping being from the UK i'm used to guys with his personality. Bisping used to be an exciting fighter in his first couple UFC fights he's lost that aggression along the way, he needs to get that back. By no means am i saying he gonna be champ but he can be exciting if he get's that aggression back and i hope he does.
@ mmauk
There's nothing wrong with him flying "the flag". To me, it's part of the sport and we all follow / support fighters from countries, other then our own. I'm not British, but there are lots of British fighters that I like. Heck, I begrudgingly like the annoying Dan Hardy (think he's a solid and exciting fighter) and thought the way Paul Dailey was dealt with was over a little over the top and could have been dealt with in a less severe manner.
No mmauk - the reason people, at least on this side of the pond don't like Bisping, is that he's a whiner, a showboat without a show, a loud mouth and blowhard; all with a spotty and shotty record. It has nothing to do with him being British. He's Chael Sonnen, without the talent, verbal skills or humor. Chael is all the things I've said about Bisping (except a whiner), but his showboat actually has a show - and it's great. That's why, now, people who were not Sonnen fans are now, Sonnen fans. Yes he runs his mouth, but he's exciting in the ring and that, at the end of the day, is what makes someone a fan of a fighter.
If Bisping wants to win some fans and some respect (over here) then my advice to him would be, to take a leaf from Sonnen's book and back up the rhetoric and the mouth, with some KO's and stoppages.
"Showboat without a show" = Classic
rockstar without a guitar.....nevermind thats a crackhead.
Ever since the Matt Hamel fight I've really not paid much attention to him. He proved he was completely full of shyt in that post fight diatribe.
Bisping is the biggest overrated fighter in the middleweight division , maybe in the UFC. they guy has 0 power on his hands.
has no Jiu Jitsu skills , the only thing he might have is some cardio.
i don't know why the hell is he even talking about a title run or title contender, all top middleweights would KO him , Belcher , Marquardt , Belfort , Silva. Maia as well as palhares will Submit him.
and of course Sonnen will kill him where he stands.
fair point i get it everyone hates Bisping but his ground skills are underrated he come against Jiu Jitsu black belts and GnP them come up against good wrestlers and wasn't lay and prayed on for 3 rounds. But how is overrated i keep seeing people write this but again who ever said he's a great fighter or 1 of the best, sure he thinks he is but what he supposed to just give and say i don't want to be a champion.
I do not like bisping and i love everyone that beats him especially Hendo!
bisping is a d1ck i hope akiyama hendos that bitch
i really want Akiyama to win this not because i like Akiyama that much just cause i hate bisping
Cote, Bisping, I never been a fan of either, so it really doesn't matter to me who wins or loses if they ever do fight. I want to see Rua and Silva fight that would be a great fight! Another great fight would be Sonnen vs Lesnar, lol I know that would be a blow-out, just a joke really.
as much as u guys all h8 bisping (4 no good reason) hes got a point, cote is crap, he shouldn't have gotten a title shot, besides if cote was talkin crap first, how is bisping in the wrong
possibly a few xenophobic americans?
jealous of America much Mr Thirdworld azzkisser?
For no good reason? i bet you never watch TUF 9. Bisping is a bitch! the biggest bitch of them all!
Most immature display I've ever seen on TUF from any coach. Throwing a water bottle in the face of a contestant when you are a coach?? He's a pure cry baby and a sore loser, nothing more.
Can someone tel me what he said? I missed it lol
I'd pick Pat Cote all day long, in a fight with Bisping - please.
Bisping would get knocked out - end of statement, man. Pat Cote has some serious ass power in his hands; just ask Kendal Grove & Drew McFedries. The only hope that Bisping would have in that fight is the same hope that he has in any fight, with a decent fighter - stay away and win a "points" decision. That's it.
Pat Cote aside - who exactly @ 185, particularly against guys with big "slugging" stand-up, could he beat? I cannot think of anyone from Cote, Belcher, Rivera, Marquardt, et al. all the way up to Belfort and Silva, that this guy could beat; not one.
Here's a question for Bisping - Is Chris Leben "beneath" him? For even though he has a crappy decision victory over Leben, Leben's star and skills are on the rise and with impressive victories, not shitty decisions. I'd like to see a rematch of that fight. Chris has grown a great deal in the two years, since; he's not the same fighter. However, he has the same killer power and apparently, some new (killer) ground skills.
Concluding - I'll be pulling for Akiyama; hopefully a KO. And maybe with this loss, Bisping will be gone. If not, then hopefully this loss will be the precursor to a couple of back-to-back losses - and then - he will be gone. Either way, I can't wait for the UFC to cut this powerless snoozefest; give me a Keith Jardine, any day.
Nicely put, especially the Leben comment. Bisping thinks he's basically above everyone, in his own little world of disillusion. Not a great ambassador to the sport, and very immature. Since when did Cote become irrelevant anyway? He was injured during his title shot and then lost to a top contender in Belcher. I'm not sure where Bisping gets off but he's been doing it for a long time now, with little real success to back it all up. That's probably why he has three fans and is wondering why its not more. I doubt if he loses to Akiyama that they will let him go, but we can only hope.....
@WingChun
That's exactly what I was thinking. I would pick Cote too. Did anyone hear of Cote talking trash to Bisping. I think if anything Bisping brought this to our attention by speaking about it. Now I hope this fight is next so Bisping can take another loss by someone he thinks is below him.
@ CageRage
LOL!!!! @ "three fans".
Thanks, some pretty nice work yourself there.....
@ JPG23 (The Wise)
I believe you are right - Wise. I think this is a "please don't throw me in the brier patch" form of logic. No one talks about Bisping (fighters or fans), because no one cares. So, when people won't talk about you or call you out, then make something up....which is what I think has happened, here.
To the best of my knowledge - Cote has said nothing of Bisping and doubt Bisping is on his radar; it would be a lesser fight for Cote (IMO) and a step up in challenge for MB. Quite the opposite of what he's said, which was / is that Cote was / is "beneath" him.
I see this as Bisping acting as his own press agent, calling attention to himself for a non-event. I'll take Cote's word on whether or not something was "actually" said. And please note - Bisping doesn't tell us what Cote was supposed to have said, only that something was said. Nor does he tell us when and where this happened and how he's heard about it.
....tisk, tisk.
I'd like to see where Cote said that or if it is just hearsay.
@ JPG23 (The Wise)
Forgot to say...
An interesting fight would be Cote vs. Leben. The winner gets to replace Bisping, as the male role in Bisping's kid's life. LOL!!
...sorry, couldn't resist.
Bisping has been calling out more than Cote lately. He has been talking sh*t about Sonnen and even his own countryman Dan Hardy.
Bisping is grossly overpaid and is a mediocre fighter at best. His trash talking is the only reason he is the headlines. I think he is reading the writing on the walls back home and knows guys like Hardy and Hathaway are ready to take over the leadership role.
He isn't in Cote's league and he sure as hell isn't in Sonnen's league. I would go so far as to say, that even Dan Hardy could lay a beating on this glass-jawed, jack-off.
@ Capjo
Very well said. I couldn't agree more. And I agree, in a stand-up fight with Hardy...I'll take Hardy; regardless of weight; eat 'em alive.
Personally I think bisping is a very good fighter. Whilst he isnt certainly the best in the division , he is a good fighter.
I recently watched his fight with rashad evans for the first time and honestly I think he put on a very good fight and out punched rashad on his feet.
Bisping isn't a bad guy, he's playing the role now I think, all you guys hate him, yet he gets attention. He's the guy people want to see get knocked out, that is an advantage though as he is staying relevant in terms of media exposure.
Whilst I don't think he will ever win a title, I do think he will win his next fight and would beat leben again. Leben, whilst a good fighter, lacks techical stand up, which happens to be bispings best attribute. Decision win again.
Cote will knock his d*ck in the dirt!!
PERIOD!
He needs to be carefull not to piss Patrick off,...IMO!!
WoW people care
Cote not only have big ass power, but he also has the chin to go with.
To be clear,Pat Cote is a tough sob!If these 2 fight each other,Cote would Hendos Bisping faster than Hendo himself.And I'll put $$$ on that!As for Bisping now;
they even made an error while writing his name(Bisping)in the tittle of this article...They wrote "Miachael".Theres no point there, but its just funny.
Bisping=irrelevant
This article is an irrelevant piece of shit. Who the **** cares about Bisping. He's a bum. He's going to get his ass whooped by Akiyama.
i said it before and i say it again **** this guy he could never be a champ sonnen or silva would just dismantle his ass and he needs to leave the uk he always wants to fight in his home turf this guy is wack and to be honesty i think cote could beat his ass
