butterbean?
From what i heard, ButterBean is retired
Ah...beat me to it. I was gonna say Roy Nelson.
Advantages:
Able to keep guys down with his big belly
I don't even want to get started on this list haha!
Also don't forget he won his last two fight by KO
You should probably factor in size when talking about HWs, too.
Not that I think of it, factor in speed, and chin, too.
Lol if Mir has poor strike defence Big Nog has terrible strike defence tko'd by Mir and Velasquez not to mention he was loosing the stand up battle to Tim Slyvia. He's chin is not so great either both kongo and rothwell took significant damage from Velasquez and didn't get tko'd.
GNP is way different on the ground than on the feat. Apples ans Mangos. I agree about Nog's chin though. It used to be great. Since the Heath Herring fight it has started to look a bit suspect. Considering the way he out wrestled, out struck and out grappled Couture, I would give him a good chance against Lesner. Couture was doing all of that to Brock before he got caught.
GNP should be getting punched. I started one sentence and finnished another.
Appreciate your effort but i gotta say i disagree with a lot of it. It seems like alot of things get based on a single instance in a single fight of a fighters career. Brock Lesnar was knocked silly by Shane Carwin and didn't know where he was and suddenly he is horrible off his back because of that one and only time he has been on it he was trying to avoid the fight from beign stopped.
Right, and that is just one example. There are other fighters that have been judged the same way here.
Cool idea tho, appreciate the contribution.
borck fights once in a year and becomes #1 fighter. a single instance seems to be all there these days in mma.
Nice Thread Nik! Well thought out and executed.
Where`s Tank Abbot on this list?
Tank Abbot sucks and hes retired.
Tank is an absolute legend!
Even if I disagree with some of them, you get a cool from me bud =)
carwin doesent have bad sub defence
its just he didnt expect to get subed by lesnar
he didnt even initiate mma basics off his back. brock left his leg dangling for ages and he didnt think to hook it. maybe he couldn't if his body had seized like he said it did, if so i apologise. but if not that is not bad it is much worse. going into a title fight with no defense off the back. i think he relied too much on his ability to ko brock. might have done him a favour in the long run, as i think carwin can become a more dominant heavyweight than brock can be if he addresses his failings from this fight. i think brocks are much harder to improve. not saying brock cant or wont, i just think they are harder things to develop and become confident in.
