This was hilarious. However, I think that women's mma is too big a risk for the UFC to pick up right now. The main thing keeping the UFC out of certain countries and states is the belief that the sport is too savage or brutal. If the UFC has a women's division the people who already oppose it will no longer even consider it.

I think that women should start and organization in a place where mma is already very accepted like Brazil. Maybe in a few years it will have developed and the rest of the world will be ready for it.

The women are good and that is not the issue. It is much less safe for the to do so as they have breast and wombs. Not a nice thought when you are watching...

Dont like it. Idk man but I just dont see myself getting excited for any female fights. Plus, I just dont like seeing girls getting smacked around. UFC is mans organization, it's done well like that. I mean **** IT! Always some female uprising for some reason or another. Let the boys fight!!! I just dont see this working! Hope Dana dont cave in cuzz of some UFC is sexist claims. Cant wait till this whole thing is over with

I didn't like the idea of it, but I was sold after the first women's fight I saw.

    Round 1, I was a little uncomfortable.

    Round 2 I was intrigued.

    Round 3 I was hooked.

I dont know lowkickers but 2 warriors getting in a cage to beat the living shit out of eachother to see whose the baddest mother****er around seems more like a male thing. Female soccer, basketball, etc... fine...but leave fighting to the boys.

If you see MMA as a fight then no. But if you see MMA as a sport then defiantly yes. Maybe not the UFC at the moment, but keep SF women's division, they have been doing a good job same with Bellator.

see u dont care because ur one of those people who jus like to see people punch eachother in the face. a true mma fan likes to see high level technique. that fight u mentioned with marloes conan was a discrase imo. the fact that this random girl almost beat the champ shows how low their skill level really is, the girl could barly throw a punch. right now womans mma has no place in the major league of mma. maybe 10 years from now

i thought that a true MMA fan wud want to watch..........MMA. just a crazy thought. We dont always see the best performances from Male fighters so that happening to Females shouldnt be that big of a shocker. I hate that women try to always be equal to men but always have those chnages to the rules or tweeked standards but if it means i get to see more fights I seriously wont mind.

but the only argument that matters for dana is there arn't enough good female fighters to create a division that doesn't stagnate in a year.. plus businesswise they arn't a big draw (even strikeforce used to put womens title bouts on the undercard..)

    give it a few years

I love watching MArloes and Cyborg but womans MMA should stay outside the UFC. You cant put something so controversial like womans MMA onto a stage as big as the UFC, it would cause to many problems. Also there arent many big names you could promote and not that many female fighters in general

I know there's good arguements for women to fight if men do and I also know there is not really an arguement against women fighting. But personally I hope the UFC does not start putting on womens fights as I really don't like seeing women fight. Maybe its sexist or patronising but can't help it, just don't wanna see it.

I'm sure things are still a bit hectic from the merging with the WEC and Zuffa already has the ball rolling for more and more shows and events. They have a pretty full plate in their hands and I just don't see room for women's MMA in the immediate future. But they now own SF which does host an abundant and talent rich pool of women fighters that have definitely impacted the sport and left a major impression in the world of Mixed Martial Arts. And to be honest, if Zuffa didn't own SF, I don't think they would be able to compete with the SF women's division. Real Talk.

although there are some very good female fighters there is not enough, unless they all fight each other and either have one weight class or just make it a catchweight division but even then there would be some fighters who would only want to fight at the same weight

Why not? Dana brought in a boxer to get the boxing fans, a wwe star to get their fans so why not have female fights to get the female fans. It's all about the cash ain't it??? ;)

If the only reason he brought in a boxer was that he was talking smack Dana wouldn't have payed him more than Randy, a legend in MMA, now would he? Dana knew that paying Toney big bucks was a wise investment, and if you watched the fight you know that Toney wasn't in it to prove he was the better fighter, he did it for the cash.

The smack talk was just PR. I bet the payment that Toney got included that too. A smart way of getting boxing fans to watch MMA.

The same with Brock, he is the perfect for bringing in the wwe fans, you either love him or hate him. His out of the octagon antics was just the drama wwe fans missed from MMA, and Brock brought it. Why do you think he got a shot at the title after two fights, one loss and one win? It's business.

Female fights is a different, Dana knows he probably would get some new fans, but he also probably would loose some. It's not necessarily good business.

But if you wan't MMA to be considered a real sport it would be wise. Women do bjj, boxing, muay thai everything that you find in MMA so why not? I coach 4 women and I don't get why they shouldn't get to compete in the sport that they train.

I'm also all for junior MMA, different rules, but still MMA.

If MMA want's to be considered a real sport, not just mindless fighting, it should be open to everyone. I know Dana want's it to be the gladiator games of today, but I don't care for that. I would love to see MMA in the olympics some day.

It's not a sexist thing not having a womens division in the UFC. I look at the UFC as the NBA. It's great to have womens Basketball but they don't have the NBA and Womens basketball joined at the hip do they?

I feel like a complete sexist, but I like women's mma.

If I wasn't such a sexist, I would say that gender didn't matter--let the best man or woman win. If a woman can rise to the top in a traditionally male sport--then let her fight men.

If wasn't such a sexist, I woud judge women's MMA as vastly inferior compared to the MMA I see in the UFC.

But I am a sexist, and I believe the sport needs to be divided by gender, otherwise, realistically, women would never be able to compete. So I am in favor of women in the UFC.

what i can see at the moment is ZUFFA using Strikeforce to analyse and have a better hands on experience on these things like Women's fights, Co-promotions etc without actually involving the UFC. After some time they can figure out what is and isnt viable to adopt into the UFC.

Females can do w/e they want. If they want to fight then I say allow them to and give them the opportunity instead of having double standards.

Just make a open weight women's division and there we go. Eventually it will become too stacked and your going to have to split it again. Then again and again...

This is Kristin, the chick from the video. I really appreciate yall putting my work out there. I started this video series not to request a UFC women's division, but to support a women's MMA reality show funded by Zuffa that would feed into Strikeforce. I'm trying to get the word to Dana though this post: http://wmmaroundup.com/blog/2011/04/dear-dana/

If you're in to this idea, I would love for you to tweet or FB status or email or whatever you can do to get the word out. Thanks!
