The last time Paul Daley fought in the UFC was May 2010, facing Josh Koscheck at UFC 113. After the final horn had sounded, Daley approached Koscheck from behind, sucker punching him, subsequently drawing the ire of UFC President Dana White.

Following the fight, White, speaking of Daley said, “He's done. I don't give a [expletive] if he's the best 170-pounder in the world. He'll never come back here again.  There's no excuse for that. These guys are professional athletes. You don't ever hit a guy blatantly after the bell like that, whether you're frustrated or not. It was probably one of the dumbest things I've ever seen because he is a talented guy, and he is one of the best 170-pounders in the world."

Despite those words, Daley who will meet Luigi Fioravanti on Saturday at Ringside MMA 12, holds out hope that he will one day be able to fight in the UFC. “I can be an asset to the UFC. There's a big opportunity for me to come back to the UFC, established fighters always find their way back. There's loads of interesting match-ups. There's the Nick Diaz rematch, which would be a nice opportunity if he lost to BJ Penn. There's Anthony Johnson, even though me and him get on well, then you've got Rory MacDonald, who's a good up-and-coming fighter. “ – for more visit ESPN

My guess is that it won't happen. The WW division is deep enough that it doesn't make much difference business-wise if Daley is in the UFC or not, and Dana would have to make a liar of himself to allow him back in.

The other thing is, I think there are too many guys who could easily put Daley on his back for 3 rounds for him to ever contend for a title. The division is just stacked with great wrestlers - GSP, Fitch, Koscheck, Rumble Johnson, Rick Story, Hendricks, MacDonald - too name a few, and my money would be on any of them to beat Daley by decision or ground and pound TKO.

Who cares? Daley is a bum. He has excellent stand up but that is it. Any fighter with even a modicum of wrestling ability can beat him. Tyrone Woodley even managed to out strike him. If he was legit top twenty he might have a chance but he isn't and I don't see it happening. If it does he will lose to anyone smarter than Kampmann.

Pass. Johnson & MacDonald would take him down with ease. It's funny he didn't say a rematch with Kos.

I think it would be good to have him fight in the UFC, despite my feelings for the guy I would love to see him fight in the big stage. But I doubt that's going to happen since Dana was pissed over his actions, oh well. A guy can dream.

No matter what Daley does to get back into the fold, he'll not get another opportunity to fight for the UFC again. Unless he blows (off) every head in the UFC, he's not going to step foot in there to fight a sanctioned bout. He may end up as a cornerman, but I even doubt that.

I'm sure Dana doesn't think about Daley much nowadays, but even if they talk with eachother every so often, White will hopefully stick to his guns. What Daley did was purely stupid.

He had 15 minutes mano-a-mano with Koscheck and couldn't beat him then, so he has to come up from behind and sucker punch Kos. What a sissy, punk, bit*h. Stick to the smaller venues and fight in those circuits, Daley. Be a big fish in a little pond, since you were too small a fry to hang in the Ocean (UFC).

Oh, and you have got to win your fights. Dana give walking papers when you lose 2-3 times, depending on how hard you fight. Daley lost to Woodley and Diaz, so he would have been fired again, if he were in the UFC anyway. Even if he loses, if he fights hard, he still has a chance of staying with the UFC (see Leonard Garcia), but his last two loses looked bad.

Paul Daley has lost my respect, he's got a big mouth, he's arrogant, and he has no chance against a decent wrestler. Like Dan Hardy he has great stand up, but great stand up just isn't enough.
