After hinting at a possible cut to 170-pounds, Nate Marquardt will make it official when he meets Anthony "Rumble" Johnson at UFC on Versus 4.

News of the match-up, which will likely serve as the card's headliner, was first reported by Versus.com and has since been confirmed by sources close to the development.

Marquardt (31-10-2) first revealed the potential transition to Welterweight following his recent victory over Dan Miller at UFC 128.  Prior to the win, he came up short against Yushin Okami at UFC 122 in a bout that would have earned him a second shot at the 185-pound strap.  Though Marquardt has put together a respectable 6-3 mark since his failed attempt at dethroning Anderson Silva back in 2007, he's had mixed results as of late, going 2-2 in his last four.

Johnson (9-3), meanwhile, is fresh-off a lop-sided unanimous decision victory over Dan Hardy at UFC Fight Night 24.  The bout was his first in sixteen months after being sidelined due to a knee injury suffered during training.  In his last outing before the lay-off, "Rumble" had a three-fight win streak snapped when he was submitted by Josh Koscheck at UFC 106.

UFC on Versus 4 is set to take place June 26th from the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  In addition to Marquardt vs. Johnson, the card is expected to feature Heavyweight bouts Pat Barry vs. Cheick Kongo and Matt Mitrione vs. Christian Morecraft; Welterweights Martin Kampmann vs. John Howard and Matt Brown vs. Rich Attonito; And Featherweight match-ups Joe Stevenson vs. Javier Vazquez and Tyson Griffin vs. Manvel Gamburyan.

you guys are missing the bigger picture here: Nate's move to welterweight signifies that GSP has made up his mind to move to middleweight. Sit back and watch it unfold.

    Great--two HWs fighting at WW.

Still, it is a good matchup--one I'd like to see. I suppose if Johnson can cut all that weight, so can Marquardt. I hope Nate brings his killer instin

Small?! The dude is a bull in the ring. He easily overpowered Miller last time out. He wasn't reaching the success he hoped for at MW so he dropped like many fighters are doing now.

Awesome card to BTW & then for free!

He told Anton that he walks around at 210 and after seeing him next to Couture I think he is low balling that. Nate is huge.

I'm picking Nate. He is more experienced and has more skill at every range.

Pat Barry vs Cheik Kongo? that fights definately not going 3 rounds. Great matchup. Two great kickboxers who hate to grapple. Im giving it to Barry though

The aids comment was not directed at you. There was some troll posting ad links and for some reason when they deleted that posting my comment went to yours. I do not wish aids upon you.

If Nate's looking for an easier time of it at 170 he may be in for a rude awakening especially straight in against Rumble.
