He really didn't have a bad word to say about Georges. Fighting style critiques are fair game. Georges will be an awesome coach, and I hope it's a great fight. It would be exciting if they boxed. It might happen considering that they're both such great wrestlers, they might just save their energy and not try for take-downs. Like Randy and Brock, they didn't bother shooting for take-downs because they knew that they couldn't reasonably expect to get them. This might be a boxing match like that was. Leg kicks will be important.
I agree, but look how easily GSP took Kos down in the first fight. I would like to see how GSP's striking is coming along from training with Freddie Roach. I still don't see Kos having anything for him.
From what we have seen it would be unwise for GSP to strike with Kos but who knows how he will be when he fights next? He might be a better striker than Kos. I think though that Kos would win a striking match but GSP will most likely GnP this fight to a win.
I think GSP is better than Kos in every discipline of MMA but his best chance to win would definitely be stand up. Anyone can land the lucky punch. I like GSP by sub.
Hardy wouldn't have tapped if GSP brought a gun to that fight. Hardy would have let all his limbs break. He wasn't tapping. Kos isn't mentally tough like that.
I hate to say it but he has a point. He has stepped into so many last minute fights its incredible i cant really see how Dana could say hes not a team player, a ****head sure, but not a team player idk. Id love to see GSP stand up with him and show case his standup skills again.
Maybe he will more likely hold him down and get out the hair dye and do his hair while he's waiting for the end of the round. lol. GSP either by decision or just maybe he can get a sub. I don't think knockout is likely but there is a lucky punch chance. Kos is very fast and accurate but he won't be likely able to get up after being down and if he gets up it will probably go back down.
Aww. did I steal your thunder? Yours is completely different, there are others commenting about the hair too so I jumped on in good fun. What a baby. Are you okay?
oh sh*t! I did it again. I take what you said in your latest post as deserved and I am sorry. I somehow always forget it is not post by post. I am a dumbass and in this case I fall back in shame. Sorry dude.
Kos said he was going to stand with Daley! That didn't happen. St. Pierre is better in every aspect of the game. Stand up he has more weopons and is quicker and take downs Peirre is far superior. And Pierre is a respectful guy and Kos is a joke who runs his mouth way to much.
0% is a bit harsh although I would say he has maybe 30% at most. If it is a standing fight Kos may be too fast and accurate. If it goes to the ground that % falls to 10%.
Koscheck said he goes out in every fight and tries to knock people out; that he doesn't fight safe. That he believes GSP fights safe and that he'll lose a lot of fans, that way.
Well Josh, what happened in the PD fight? Why didn't you use your wrestling (which you would never have had to do with PD) to keep it on the feet and fight PD "toe-to-toe" and knock him out? Why did you not do that?
'Cuz what I saw was a whole lot of keeping PD on the ground and whispering in his ear; you showed no "real" ground and pound, you attempted no submissions (that I saw or of note); you delivered zero damage to PD.
This is what I think - Thiago Alves couldn't deal with him, I don't see how you will; TA is the best striker @ 170 (most would say) and he couldn't hit GSP with anything and indeed GSP knocked him down, with a punch.
JK doesn't see what Freddie Roach can do for GSP? Wow - to that. But somehow, in reverse, JK's training, with whomever, improves him . Wow - to that, to.
I think the biggest thing I take from this piece is that JK is a tad on the delusional side. I think GSP will take him down whenever he wants to, the same as he does everyone else and JK doesn't have GSP's BJJ...that go with his power, wrestling, cardio and speed.
Like all, JK has a "puncher's" chance at winning this fight; and that is all he has. I'd like to see GSP's new skills and what he's learned, but to honest, maybe he should just wrestle him and beat the crap out of him, just to prove a point - you said "toe-to-toe"...no...to the ground we go.
As a clerical note - JK is right about one thing...GSP could use knock out power. Perhaps, after Roach, GSP could go hang with Chuck Liddell. If anyone can teach that "stuff", it's Chuck.
When you look at what Koscheck was "not" able to do to PD on the ground, then what does that tell you about JK's ground game. PD is not a ground fighter and has nowhere near GSP's skills or power on the ground, so what does that tell you about what GSP will be able to do and prevent on the ground - when it goes there. And again, if that's where GSP wants it, that's where it will be.
GSP wasn't able to do much better against hardy though. Koscheck had some good attempts just like GSP. I agree it will be where GSP wants it though. GSP will not likely stand with him because although he is more pwerful then kos he is not quite as quick or accurate.
that has to be one of the funniest statements made this year (if true) bar none, We all know that when Kos is facing a known knock out puncher he turns back to his wrestling to get the win, which is fine, that's what works for him but just who he expects to believe such a comment is beyond me. I actually think that Kos IS a pretty good striker who can hold his own but he's made it plainly obvious that he prefers not to take the risk, he'd rather go back to his bread and butter where he is strongest. GSP isn't stupid, i'm pretty sure he is just as, if not more, aware of how Kos likes to fight when he's facing a dangerous striker. Kos is just blowing a smokescreen but he isn't fooling anyone, you never know he may actually just shock us all this time and stand with GSP, as bad a strategy as that would be, i doubt it though somehow................
That was good interview. I was never really a major fan of Koscheck. More so from his brat behavior on TUF but I've come around to respect him a lot lately.
I have a natural tendency to not like people that are part of a clicks. After Dana called out Kos and to hear Kos step out and throw it right back at Dana, really raises the respect level I have for him.
Koscheck has the best chance to beat st. Pierre.... thats not to say he will but he looked the best against george when they first fought. He was able to get a takedown, reverse him once thiink, get back to his feet and he clipped him a few times. Thats a lot more than Fitch, Hardy or Alves can say
Kos obviously can be explosively make the fight more exciting to watch. And for what I believed it , if I’m not wrong ,GSP got back belt in Karate and Karate is a striking art using punching, kicking, knee and elbow strikes, and open-handed techniques such as knife-hands (karate chop). Grappling, locks, restraints, throws, and vital point strikes, elbow and striking ability with an amazing speeding to finished opponent, GSP just so smart to stick to his game plan in brilliant strategy to win with logical reasoning.
I hope Kos can stop GSP's takedowns. I don't think his striking is as good as GSP's, but I have to agree that he punches harder. It would be nice to see a finish in one of GSP's fights, it's been a while. I don't think Koscheck is going to be the one finishing it, but he does have a punchers chance.
He has a good point about his willingness to take fights. I don't think there's another welterweight who would fight Thiago Alves on short notice.
Comments
yea, just like how u stood with daley. why should gsp stand with you, he's just gonna pound the blond out your hair
he does have a punchers hand just like everyone else in MMA!
but if he used his wrestling with Daley , im sure he knows GSP will use his with him!
and considering their first fight GSP outwrestle him
i dont see Koscheck winning the fight in any other way!
and GSP wrestling its even better since UFC 74!
GSP should start training world class striking ! like he did with his wrestling to become just unbeatable!
He really didn't have a bad word to say about Georges. Fighting style critiques are fair game. Georges will be an awesome coach, and I hope it's a great fight. It would be exciting if they boxed. He couldn't sub Hardy and you think he's gonna tap Kos? I like GSP by another UD like his last 46 fights.
Id love to see GSP stand up with him and show case his standup skills again.
how does stepping up on short notice make him a team player?
team player, like when your boss asks you to step up to the plate, you do it!!!! not shrug him off like a pussy! whats not to understand?
go **** yourself
GSP will KNOCK your hair BLACK!!!!!!
Maybe he will more likely hold him down and get out the hair dye and do his hair while he's waiting for the end of the round. lol. GSP either by decision or just maybe he can get a sub. your a swagger jacker, i said basically said that fool
Aww. did I steal your thunder? Yours is completely different, there are others commenting about the hair too so I jumped on in good fun. What a baby. Are you okay?
was i talking to you clown??? no i wasn't , so don't start sh8T. unless you have 2 profiles cuz i was talking to rane dumbass
oh sh*t! I did it again. I take what you said in your latest post as deserved and I am sorry. I somehow always forget it is not post by post. I am a dumbass and in this case I fall back in shame. Sorry dude.
I also think it's funny how I was sharped for my responses when I was being so stupid.

30% based on mix of standing and ground by the way. 60% if standing entire time.

Godamn, I had to bust out the 5 hr energy drink reading your post! Write a book why don't you!

Kos is one of my favorite fighters but I think he started smokin crack if he thinks thats gonna happen
Kos will fake another eye poke!

All GSP has to do is not get hit with an overhand right and he'll win easily.
OMG I'm shitting in my pants right now, I'm so scare for GSP, what a joke.
You guys would crap your pants if he got an open shot and Ko'd GSP.
Crazier things have happened....ei. Serra
