Georges St. Pierre is set to defend his Welterweight title on March 27, at UFC 111. In order to prepare for this fight, GSP asked the Strikeforce Light heavyweight champion, Gegard Mousasi, to help him train for the dangerous striker Dan Hardy. GSP had this to say about his experience training with Mousasi:

"He's amazing, he's a great fighter, he's an even greater human being than a fighter," said St-Pierre. "He's a great guy. We plan to train together."

While, Gegard Mousasi is set to face King Mo at Strikeforce: Nashville and will be defending his title. Mo being a dangerous wrestler, Mousasi trained with one of the best wrestlers in MMA, Georges St. Pierre. Mousasi only had positive things to say about training with GSP.

"He's very professional," Mousasi told MMAWeekly.com about his work with St-Pierre. "Made me look differently at how I'm training. I learned a lot and he's a nice guy. I've never heard anyone say that he's not a nice guy. He's a very phenomenal athlete. It was great for me to train with him."

Furthermore, Mousasi believes that if GSP wants to take his striking to another level, he should come to Holland and train with some of the best K-1 fighters in the world.

"Maybe he will come to Holland to work on his stand-up, because we have good K-1 stand-up fighters in Holland. Maybe I'd join him one time in his training camp when he has a fight so we can help each other," Mousasi said.

Both these fighters plan to keep training together in the coming years and both of them will try to make successful title defenses in the coming months.

Now just think if Mousasi comes to the UFC... He could have been learning just what GSP does in fights for an up coming contract for the UFC. Never know.

if GSP really improve his stand up!

training in holland with k-1 fighters!

i dont see anyone beating GSP ever!

as far as Mousasi if he improve his wrestling just by simple takedown defense like gsp i see Mo getting his ass kick even faster!

it would be amazing if Mousasi take GSP to train with FEDOR!

It is interesting how some aspects of fighting appeal to an audience and some don't. I remember, years ago, how a co-worker hated Ali's rope-a-dope. MMA rules were adapted to disadvantage Royce Gracie because 15 minute matches where there was no perceptible movement was "boring".

If GSP's style of ground and pound with knees is annoying to people hopefully fighters will come up with a defense rather than a rule change.

I'd much rather watch GSP's lay and pray than listen to fight fans whine about it.

Thanks for setting that straight with the facts Ninja. I'm getting really tired of hearing the lay and pray comment aimed at one of the greatest and most exciting fighters in the sport.

Ramon was a beast. He definitely wasn't afraid to slug it out with someone. I think he did as much or more damage with his kicks, they had big power.

How old was he when he went to MMA? With a new evolving sport it is difficult to compare greats from the last generation of fighters.

I already consider GSP to be a top tier striker. He was a full contact Karate champion before becoming an MMA fighter. That being said, striking has become the weakest part of his game. If he goes to Holland and puts the effort that he put into improving his wrestling into his striking, that would be something to see.

GSP has gotten caught by a striker once in his entire career and trust people to jump to the conclution that his hands are lacking. I agree its not his strength but it sure as hell isn't a weakness. He destroyed both Fitch and Alves when the fight was standing up.

agreed, it gets really tiring how everyone says GSP's standup is poor and his chin is questionable when he's only ever been caught once and by a guy with a hell of a lot of power
