Mir wants Lesnar to die in the cage

Ahead of his upcoming UFC 111 bout with Shane Carwin, Frank Mir interviewed to Mark Madden of WXDX Radio and what asked about his obsession with a rubber match against the current UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Mir had some pretty harsh words for Lesnar:

"I want to fight Brock Lesnar. I hate who he is as a person. I want to break his neck in the ring. I want him to be the first person that dies to Octagon-related injuries."

Should Mir Beat Carwin for the Interim Title on March 27th, it will set up the widely anticipated "Mir vs Lesnar 3". Stay tuned to LowKick.com for the full WXDX Radio interview with Frank Mir.

Mir is asking to die. Brock is the one that is going to do the killing. Why make him angry Mir?

Mir proves how much of a piece of shit he really is.

Whether you like the guy or not, wishing that is pathetic. Even if the only reason he is saying it now is because he is worried about Cain getting the title fight against Brock and wants it for himself.

I hope Carwin beats his ass. That would be great for the heavyweight division anyway - heavyweight was lacking as of late, and Cain and Carwin emerging as real top contenders would be awesome.

Agreed, and I hate Brock. Wouldn't want to see that happen to anyone because no1 deserves that and it would definitly hurt the UFC's rep.

Although I am hoping Carwin knocks the shit out of Mir and Lesnar.

Carwin vs Velazques UFC 123 !!!

would be a great fight for two up and comers!

I think you should listen to the interview first before you react to the statement. In it he was asked how real the bad blood between the two fighters was. He did say those things, but it was a kind of hyperbole, and probably to help hype a second rematch. I dont think he cares for Brock and what he represents in the cage, but doubt he would really want someone to die in the cage.

Ah, okay, this will just make it all the more enjoyable when Lesnar monkey-stomps him effortlessly again and sends him in for reconstructive surgery on his face.

I seem to remember Douchebag Mir talking about explaining to his kids how an athlete is supposed to behave? Piece of crap. He'll never have a chance against Brock. He'll never have a chance against Shane, or Cane, and now that Nog isn't suffering from staff, he'll beat Frank too. Oh, and Duffee is on his way. All better than Frank. Bye Frank.

He's certainly skilled. But there are a lot of skilled fighters. I think the problem is that fighters are learning how to defend BJJ. What has Frank done that has impressed you lately?

Lesnar in his first fight, with no experience, against an experienced former champion, made a rookie mistake and handed him a submission. That was Lesnar's mistake, not some brilliance on the part of Frank... Then Frank got his face rearranged in the rematch.

He submitted Congo? Maybe the easiest-to-submit fighter in the entire UFC?

He beat Hardonk?... Can you name one half-decent fighter that Hardonk defeated? He lost to Congo and to Barry most recently I believe.

    He lost to Vera?

You don't really think he'd have a prayer in the rubber-match do you? Maybe if Brock was on his death-bed with that ass-fungus again.

Not impressed that he submitted Kongo... but very impressed that he knocked the phuqe out of him right before subbing him. You seem to be getting a lot of "weak" hits stonedpony, maybe you should tone down the rhetoric.

I don't see Frank even getting a title shot in... ever. He can't touch anyone in the top-4, he'll always be just out of reach unless an injury or something puts him. Oh, Junior, another guy who will beat Frank's ass. Run along to Strikeforce Frank, or drop down to LHW like you said you were going to after you realized that you can't hold Lesnar's jock.

(I can think of several names at LHW who Frank would lose to)

I agree with those words, but fedor should be the one to finish lesnar... or if not kill him break his arm off or something, after that dana will think twice before bringing wwe freak shows to mma, lets face it the only reason lesnar is ufc champion is because the ufc division is weak.. his record (5-1) proves that. Lesnar's roids can only do so much for him, soon he will be destroyed.. but it won't be mir.

Who does Pride have worth mentioning? Other than Fedor-the-hider and people who have been chased out of the UFC because they couldn't compete? You think Fedor should be fighting Werdum? The guy who got smashed by Junior and ran crying out of the UFC to find easier competition?

Well UFC won't co-promote cause they know Fedor will tear up the HW division and end up leaving once the contract is over, it will be a huge embarassment for the UFC and Dana White. The problem is Dana White promotes UFC, not MMA.

Also you say who does Pride have worth mentioning? you don't realise that pride isn't around anymore? all the top fighters came from pride.. Anderson Silva, Fedor, Wanderlei Silva, Rampage, Nog, Crocop, Dan Henderson, Shogun etc.. too many to name.

Sit down kid.. go suck off some wwe freakshow like Lesnar.

Typo, I meant Strikeforce, not failed-Pride.

And, only idiot children who want to destroy MMA want co-promotion between joke organizations and the UFC. It's what killed boxing. Because not-smart people like yourself can't think things through. No real champions, 500 belts, and there is no talent to co-promote against anyways. Fedor is in Strikeforce because he knows co-promotion won't happen, because it's a stupid idea.

If he wanted to fight real competition he wouldn't have gone and joined the girl-scouts.

the only reason UFC doesn't want to co-promote is because when they used to co-promote with pride and every time they did their guy would lose. they are just afraid that once again the mystique of the UFC being the best of the best will again be tarnished. co-promotion actually helps the sport, what killed boxing wasn't co-promotion but top level fighters being able to pick their own fights. its the fighters in boxing that force fights not to happen, the promotions actually tend to bend over backwards for the big cross promo fights but you end up getting Mayweather v pacman type situations were the fighters desire to protect their great records causes them to fizzle truely interesting fights.

The 3 besides Fedor are Barnett, Arlovski and Overeem. I know nothing about Barnett. Arlovski was beaten by Rothwell who was then demolished by Cain Velasquez, and Overeem was KO'd by Shogun who fights at 205. I doubt they'd last in the UFC. Even if they would, you can't have everybody. So enough with the UFC Heavyweight division being weak.

Overeem fought Rua in '07 and was 205 when he did. Now he's leaking testosterone from his ears and is a lean 260. That's scary. And that whole concept (that if fighter A beats fighter B, than fighter A can beat anyone fighter B has beaten) has been proven time and again to be completely phuqued and untrue, and people need to stop using it.

They all either could not get in to the UFC, or they got chased out of the UFC because they couldn't compete. That roid-goon Lashley is a joke, they couldn't even get his fight against Tim Sylvia sanctioned because it was deemed "not competitive".

Fedor, then nobody. Overroids who refuses to even defend his belt. Rogers who would be killed in the UFC. Oh wait, they got 90 year Hershel, my mistake.

Guess we'll never know since he's not competing anymore. And yes, it is very impressive of Lesnar to step in to the sport with no experience and become champion so quickly. And in such a dominant fashion, in the professional organization, as opposed to the amateur organization where Fedor is wasting his time until he can retire undefeated.

it really wasn't that impressive he beat a no name from korea, loss to mir who was at the time on his way out of the UFC because of his poor performances, beat a washed heath herring, beat randy couture who only had about a year and 3 months of ring rust on him and lesnar still only won off a mistake on randy's behalf not a appliance of technique and skill, and he beat mir who again really isn't that impressive(he's really riding on beating lesnar once). Lesnar hasn't done anything that impressive, tho the UFC PR machine has done a good job of hyping him up. He would loss to carwin,JDS,or cain(givin his destruction of big Nog).

Randy's mistake was getting knocked out... Frank (while I wouldn't put him in the top few anymore) is one of the top Hw's in the world, and Lesnar smashed him like he was an infant. Also, Heath had Nog out but let him off the hook, he's also a huge guy who nobody has ever manhandled that way. It was one of the most lopsided beatings in MMA history.

It would be nice to see him fight some significant competition. He already fought Rogers, and Overroids won't fight... Overroids won that belt in 07, hasn't defended it. Hell, Werdum has beaten Overroids. He has no business even being considered to fight Fedor.

Fedor will just have to fight Rogers over and over.

He quits like a girl too quickly to actually be killed I think. Carwin will do to him what Brock did to him, to a slightly less devastating degree. Which might be better actually. If Frank survives longer, he'll have more time to be punished and humiliated.

I think Dana will rip Mir a new one for that comment. It's one thing to say you want to go to war or "it's to the death" like BJ did. People can understand that you're being dramatic.

But to actually say you want to have a fatality in the octagon is not only stupidly barbaric, and goes against the whole spirit of martial arts, it also tarnishes the image of the UFC.

The UFC has tried very hard to sell itself as an elite sport and get away from the idea that MMA is just a televised street fight. They still are trying to get sanctioned in big markets like New York and Toronto.

And now Mir has handed the opponents of the UFC a great quote to use against them. Way to go, Frank.
