Minotauro Nogueira predicts a double Brazilian victory at UFC 110

Legendary UFC and Pride Heavyweight fighter, Minotauro Nogueira, declared that the Brazilian fans will enjoy a "double victory" at UFC 110 in Australia. Big Nog seemed to be extra confident prior to his main event fight against the explosive 7-0 Cain Velasquez, stating that he believes in his gameplan, and the fellow countryman Wanderlei Silva. In fact, "The Axe Murderer" and Minotaur fought on the same card three times in their career, and in all three times both of them were victorious (That's for you, Trivia guys).

"The fans can be sure that they will get two Brazilian victories. I promise to do my best, and so is Wanderlei. We are very excited to fight in Australia. My strategy is try to block his wrestling skills and do a good fight, move a lot inside the cage, and eventually to take the fight to the ground – it’s where I can use my Jiu-Jitsu skills to submit him."

Anotnio Rodrigo Nogueira could use experience from his double-feature fight against the Wrestling expert Josh Barnett in Pride, more than three years ago. Thirty-three year old Minotauro Nogueira will look to prove everyone that he still has plenty to offer against the new blood in Mixed Martial arts, and to possibly challenge the UFC Heavyweight Title.

Velasquez will win. It will be interesting to see if I am wrong,

but I think he will be just too fast for Nog. You see, if Cain Velasquez worked on his striking with Dellagrotte, Freddie Roach or Phil Nurse - he would be one of the craziest things in Mixed Martial arts.

Well, this is a tough call. Valasquez is an unstoppable force of nature who can potentially overwhelm (outspeed, outwrestle, and even outbox) the veteran; That said, we all know the submission skills of Noguera. Big Nog needs to grab one dangling limb and he'll submit you instantly...

I'm frankly unable to predict who the winner will be...I'm sure, however, of one thing: this is gonna be an exciting fight and a real war between two of the greatest and most skilled HW fighters...

Yeah I'm def. rooting for the underdog on this bout (the main event one lol)

I think he can pull this off

Besides, if he does win, wouldn't that make the heavyweight division a lot more interesting?

I am confused who you are talking about, I would have to say the heavyweight division might be more interesting with a new young star but Big Nog is the underdog in this fight.

well I guess we know who Garry is now days lol.

Everyone is 50/50 here is they are right or wrong.

Its a tough call for sure, since Nog is in good shape again & cain, I just dont know how much hes improved since his last fight. It will be interesting to see if Cain's boxing is better. We know Nog has knockdown power in his hands.

Im sure Cain will keep going to the ground with it, but that can be very dangerous, I look forward to this one also.

Well said, buddy...I wonder why some fans are so certain about who's gonna win or lose. That guy Jizzle 11 is a case in point. He's dead certain that Cain will pull it off...Do you have a crystal ball or were you rather briefed by God himself??

This is MMA. Anything can happen, esp when two great fighters like Cain and Big Nog are involved...

Cain will dominate. Nog cannot keep pace, he cannot cope with Cain's wrestling and athleticism. He'll have to get lucky with a submission like the first Mir Lesnar fight.

You mean "the first Mir fight" [with Lesnar]" because as far as I know Mir and Big Nog only fought once...

Even with Lesnar, the submission wasn't just luck...JJT experts can pull it off...It takes years of practice to reach that level of submitting a monster like Lesnar with a simple move...

It wasn't so much luck as it was inexperience on Lesnar's part. It was to be expected really. Can you name one single fighter, ever, in MMA or boxing or kickboxing or any other combat sport, that stepped in fighting at the level that Lesnar did? It was the result of someone with zero experience, zero training, fighting a very experienced ex-champion still in their prime.

It's undeniable that Lesnar lost that fight not because of Frank's skill, but because he made a rookie mistake and handed Frank a limb. He was dominating him until that bogus point deduction. If Frank wasn't handed that submission on a silver platter, the fight would have gone much as the rematch did.

Nog might win the same way. But I think he'll be overwhelmed and on the ropes and grabbing for desperation submissions to do it.

It's a bit of a redundant headlineH as he always says that, having said that I have a feeling he might be right this time. Nog and Cain fight could potentially be the best heavyweight match since Nog and Couture.

Who knows, I'm also still rooting for Bisping.
