Does anyone know what the situation is that he is referring to? Swick has always been one of my favorite fighters. I hope he can come back strong and avoid getting caught with those haymakers in the future. Waiting to hear that Pac again.

Not sure what happened to Swick health-wise, but I hope he's back in the cage soon. I thought he looked a little drawn out at WW. I know that cutting weight can be a huge pain in the a**. You have to do it right, and anyone considering it for the first time should get help from a pro before cutting. I've seen guys drop at weigh-ins, and get carted off to the hospital.

This guy's face bothers me. It's probably his lack of an upper lip.

Having been a competitive wrestler for over 10 years I can tell you that cutting weight is extremely dangerous. In the last couple years a new rule came in where we weighed in a half hour before our match.

This is even more dangerous in a MMA bout where there IS going to be concussive blows to the head as the fluid around the brain is lost through the process of cutting.

Bas Rutten brought this up about 2 months before a death in the cage where a fighter at 6'6 was fighting lightweight.

MMA has done alot of right things in regards to safety of the fighters but I honestly think that this is something that should be looked at before another tragedy scars the sport that we all love.

I think that having the fighters weigh in right before a fight would help with people getting health issues from cutting weight. But with so many people in the UFC cutting weight if they started doing that many people would have to change weight classes.

Indeed, it would reshape the weight classes a little (and we'd actually see a bunch of people coming in on weights other than the max) but it would make way more sense. Even if done properly their can be risks in it and EVERY fighter hates cutting weight, you never hear any fighter talking about how much fun o non-stressful it is, it would be a win-win situation.

The guys in the UFC are the only ones cutting weight that severely.

Its like the difference between a store model and a supermodel.

I think through cutting weight hes accidentally become anorexic and his body is not recovering from the routine. Hope to see him back healthy soon, I like Mike from his very first UFC fight.

Should call GSP "The Master" because everyone learns from him.
