Swicks a cool guy man, always game for a laugh and he's a very talented fighter too, very fast hands and a good boxing, he's very well rounded too imo he just likes to strike. Had a couple of bad results of late but nothing he can't bounce back from bigger and better, i enjoy watching him fight every time out, i hope to see him back on track and in the hunt again soon, good luck to you Mike........
@borealis- you can't blame any of the fighters for some of these political points you are making, i understand your point completely and i actually agree with you, the palace, amongst a lot of other things, need to be returned to the Iraqi people, which i beleive will happen at some point but meanwhile the soldiers should not be staying there living it up etc the way they are, that IS wrong, is there a shortage of hotels or something? That said, it is the Military and above that are to blame imo, not the UFC or their fighters......
Swick is a likable dude. Makes me wonder tho, with 2 consecutive losses, will Swick be looking at getting cut if he loses his next fight? I mean he has had a tough run as of late, but a strong record overall. I know he was close to fighting Serra a month or two back, but I believe an elbow injury kept him sidelined. I cant find anything on a fight even being discussed with Swick, anyone know when he might be back?
I don't think so really. He's too popular (and the fact is that if the fans want to see a fighter, the UFC tends to make it happen), that's the only reason Kimbo got his shot, and why he'll probably not have trouble finding contracts in the future.
He lost to Hardy and to Paulo Thiago, great fighters. Paulo knocked out Koscheck, and took Fitch to a decision. They'll give Swick several more mid-level learning fights I think.

As for Iraq... It might happen on a military base, otherwise it will only happen in the hot-spots that depend on tourism for an economy. Like Abu Dahbi, they cater to westerners who bring a lot of money in, and they make a lot of cultural exceptions to create an appearance that is not shocking to someone from the East or the West.
Shockingly there are laws against viewing violence in these cultures. You can make some popcorn and go watch a woman be decapitated in public for witchcraft, you can buy decapitation videos from anyone peddling DVD's, but you can't watch an R-rated movie. MMA would probably not be acceptable.
