Time for Mitrione to fight a big name opponent.
Mitrione is top of the second tier of heavyweights but he will never beat any of the top tier guys.
His big advantage is his 81 inch reach, its so hard to judge distance against someone with such a long reach but I don't think he would trouble the best HW's. Maybe he might give Mir a good fight though.
The meathead beat a can. But he did beat him impressively, and the guy only has four MMA fights.
i think an amateur mma fighter has better striking than hague.
he can only get better training with guys like Anthony Pettis, Pat Barry, Ben Askren and Alan Belcher.
I know mitrione has had a lot of haters since his showing on tuf but regardless of that he is an exciting heavyweight to watch. He comes to trade and is pretty skilled. He use legs kicks brilliantly to break down his opponents or at least it keeps them guessing. Im a mitrione fan for sure. F..k the haters.
That was too easy fight for Mitrione. Give him a real fighter next time...
"Too easy of a fight for Mitrione"
how did hague even have a co-main event fight?
Throw him at Struve, see what happens.
he will lose by sub
i didn't like Mitrione before this fight but he won me over with his impressive victory. Also an all round great card
Tim Hague is...well pretty awful I think. I'm not sure what he is good at, he caught Barry in the guillotine only because Barry was such a novice on the ground, and I don't think he had anything to offer Mitrione. I also wonder why he was co-main event material. Props to Mitrione for finishing Hague with a broken left hand.
I am not a fan of Mitrione, but he has definitely improved his takedown defense, and his striking was excellent.
I want to see Pat Barry vs. Mitrione.
i am for berry vs meat head
uhh have i seen this comment before. maybe on like four other posts ahaha
Him and Barry would be a great fight to see
finally people are stopping to hate on meathead. hes a great fighter with good potential. next fight frank mir perhaps? but to everyone whos still hatin how can you? hes a big strong and motivated guy. hes also very fast and light on his toes and his jits game is still improvin. so ppl dnt hate ;)
Agreed. But, at least he actually tries to use Jits when the opportunity presents itself. That shows he is working on that element of his game, something that a lot of Heavyweights overlook. Props to Mitrione.
Also, I agree with a potential fight against Rothwell. I didnt think of that one at first... I thought Schaub, but he is scheduled to fight Cro Cop, plus the UFC probably shouldn't eliminate a prospect considering the current state of their HW division.
n plus hague is no walk in the park. think of this matt was 3-0 n hague was 12-4. so pls dnt say hague was an easy match for him thats just stupid
Exactly, Joey Beltran also has quite a few fights, so he has been in there with 2 experienced fights and he is only 4-0 as a pro now... all in the UFC, so yes he now deserves a higher level guy, Shane Carwin? :D
It makes sense, seeing as Mir vs Nelson, Brock vs JDS, Schaub vs Cro Cop are all fighting eachother... either Carwin or Struve makes sense for him next.
Gotta Give mitrione his due. the man's technical skills look so sharp lately, i really enjoy watching him fight.
You can't know for sure. He has shown about as much as most the HWs have shown although it's still early days he is definately improving and will be a comfortable top 5 HW in the next couple of years IMO. The only HWs I see him having big problems with are Cain and Carwin. All the others I think he has a good chance.
Mitrione is impressive. Give him a top fighter and let's see how he does.
