For 260 lbs he is very light on his feet. He has a hell of a good reach and straight left too. I really think he would give certain top 10 heavyweights some troubles right now. If he keeps training hard who knows
The UFC gives tough fights to people they want to get rid of and easy ones to others like Bisping ,Sadollah, Mitrione etc...
A good example would be Jeff Curran in the WEC in his last 4 fights with the promotion he fought Faber, Brown, Benevidez, and Mizugaki ... thats a tough road to hoe.
Id give him Nelson then Carwin and then Lesnar ... bye bye Matt.
why would the UFC want to get rid of him? he got a Fight of the Night award against Beltran and has destroyed Kimbo, Jones and Haque, he's marketable because he stands and bangs with people, he has given them no reason to want him gone
Kimbo got better after the loss but I agree that Mitrione didn't destroy him. Kimbo dominated the first round. I honestly don't understand why Dana cut him. He was 1-1 in the UFC, improving, a draw and added a little depth to the HW division even if it was to the middle tier.
i dont know what fight you watched but he destroyed kimbo. slice got two takedowns but was immediatly in danger of getting tapped then got beat up in in the last two minutes of round one. the second round was a slaughter. the reason kimbo got cut was he was beaten soundly by a guy with only one previous fight. who else could kimbo fight they would of had to bring some loser from outside the organization to fight him just to give kimbo a chance similar to what strikeforce does with hershel walker
Carwin needs an opponent. I'd love to see Mitrione vs. Carwin. It makes sense: an undefeated up-and-comer vs. a contender coming off a loss. It'll be a good test for both of them.
the guy has been impressive but he is still green hope the try to bring him up through the ranks correctly instead of just feeding him to the wolves. yes it is true some guys get the chance to mature slowly in the ufc others have to either sink or swim. just look at john jones carrerer or jds they have had plenty of fights in the ufc against weaker opponents then slowly building to stronger guys it is the way it should be unfourtanatly most guys dont get that chance perhaps the worst case would be brock lesnar 4-2 in the ufc with 4 of those fights being title fights it a joke

he has the ability to go far i like him
Kimbo Slice : " Im ready for the meat head. The Fillet Mignon ! NO alcohol , ni cigarettes until after the fight ! and after we party , we party ...."
Kimbo was more entertaining than this guy
Give him Kongo!!
Kimbo: "NO SMOKING! NO DRINKING! MOST DEFINETLY NO SEX!....until after the fight."

Like who?
i think him vs Mir would make for an interesting fight and one is see happening after 1 or 2 wins by Mitrione

About the marketable thing he also played in the NFL so thats marketable to me, but if anyone watches TUF 10 they will hate him cuz i did.....

Actually he did destroy Kimbo, fanboy.
He did not destroy Kimbo. He got beat up for the first round and then took away Kimbo's already arthritic legs. That is a win not a destruction.

I agree Kimbo got proper whooped by Mittrione. A trip to the opticians is needed by anyone who thinks otherwise.
Re-watch the first round. All the meaningful shots were Kimbo's. Mitrione turned it around in the second and got a tko. He did not dominate Kimbo.
Don't know what fight you watched. Kimbo avoided all of the sub attempts on the ground and got in some nice gnp. He easily took the first round.
He has come along way from saying his brain is bruised.

i think its time for mirtione vs nelson!
Give him the winner of Cro Cop vs Schaub

i'm not impress with your performance..
Another solid win, by MM; TH probably would not have been able to answer the bell for a fourth round; he certainly wouldn't have survived it.
Matt keeps improving and keeps demonstrating that he's a smart fighter.
I mixed up the Pat Barry fight. I'm "weaking" myself.
This guy needs a bigger name. Just like they gave Schaub...
Real fast for 260
