Top Welterweight contender Martin Kampmann, who will face Thiago Alves at UFC on FX 2, discusses his opponent, as well as his training and preparation for the bout. Kampmann acknowledges the challenge that lies ahead in his bout with Alves, but insists that he is confident wherever the fight may go in Australia.

Martin Kampmann

"It's going to be a mean a--, gritty fight. He's strong, he's explosive, he's got great stand-up, and he's got awesome takedown defense. He's really good at getting back to his feet, that's where most of his fights have taken place. But, I see him starting to take people down too and work some ground and pound. So, he's definitely a tough fighter, he's fought for the title, and he's knocked out some really good dudes. I'm ready for it. I'm coming in there to beat him up for three-rounds. I feel confident wherever the fight goes."
