I always cheer for this guy. Sorry he had to be the victim in the Shields fight. He got robbed.

diego fight too. kampmann controlled the striking and diego took him down just once

too much emphasis on take downs in mma

its mixed martial arts not mixed take down arts

Don't forget Octagon control. Diego kept on moving forward and pressing the issue. However, he was taking some punishment in the process so they negated each other. I think takedowns should be awarded points only if the fighter does something with it. If they use it to stall or recover(which looks obvious), they should be disregarded, maybe even penalized if done too many times. Kampmann needs to pull the trigger more if he rematches Diego. No sense in keeping the bullets for after the war...

A rematch needs to happen, the 1st fight was way to close.

it was close but the fact is kampmann is on a 2 fight losing streak while Diego is on a 2 fight winning streak. If a rematch were to happen it would be in a year maybe

The Diego fight was an even worse decision than the Shields fight. At least Shields actually did control positioning for a majority of the fight, it was useless top control but he got a lot of takedowns and had many passes. I still give it to the Hitman because he caused so much more damage, was more effective in his game, but there IS a case to be made for Shields taking the decision.

Diego basically ran forward into punches for fifteen minutes and had a one-sided boxing match with the air while Kampmann was doing his thing. Diego missed almost every one of his punches, had two effective flurries with only two power shots landed the entire fight, and one takedown from which Martin stood up in about 1.3 seconds. Martin won every aspect of that fight, and clearly, the only thing Diego had was aggression, but it's not aggression they score you on - it's EFFECTIVE aggression. Diego was not -effective- in the least, running forward into punches shouldn't win you a fight.

I want this rematch to happen badly because if it does, Kampmann is going to ruin Diego "the most overrated fighter in MMA" Sanchez.

Kampann could easily be complaing but he isn't great mentality.I hope he wins his next fight and gets rematches against Shields and Sanchez to avenge those "losses"

I like Kampmann, but he often lacks the killer instinct. Solid fighter though...
