UFC Middleweight contender Mark Munoz shared his thoughts about UFC 134 main event bout between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami. Munoz, who (sometimes) trains alongside Anderson Silva at Rafael Cordeiro's Kings MMA, declared that Yushin Okami is not a real threat for Anderson Silva's reign as champion. According to Munoz, Okami's takedowns are not as explosive as the ones of Chael Sonnen, who took down Anderson Silva at will.

In his last bout inside the Octagon, Mark Munoz defeated the former UFC Middleweight title challenger Demian Maia, currently holding a professional MMA record of 11-2.

not that i believe that yushin will beat Silva. but i would like to know how exactly mark can say this he is silvas wrestling coach and yushin put on a clinic on him. so unless the spiders grappling is substantialy better than munozs. it seems that this may just be another case of black house buddy B.S.

Yeah, if yushin isnt a threat then Munoz must believe that Silva vs himself would be like a 9 year old son fighting his dad.

I think you guys misunderstood what munoz was saying. Munoz was just saying that the takedown of okami won't be as explosive as chael's and that is a fact. In the fight of munoz and okami, okami did not takedown munoz he just knew how to defend the takedowns of munoz so even if okami put on a clinic vs munoz it was rather on the defensive side. Takedown and takedown defense are two different things. even if you have a good takedown defense it won't be meaning you have a great and explosive takedowns

Yeah, can't really take his word on this. However, like you I don't expect Okami to win. I've been wrong before though. I just hope its a war.
