Mark "The Machine" Hominick cleared the way to Jose Aldo with ease, after impressively knocking George Roop in the first round. Hominick's striking was laser-sharp, as the Canadian managed to connect with almost every punch he thrown at Roop. The referee stopped the contest at 1:28 seconds of Round 1, after Hominick connected with another combo, which sent Roop dazed down to the canvas.

It was Mark Hominick's 20th career victory, and his fifth consecutive inside the Octagon. The Machine is now 20-8, and is expected to face Jose Aldo as soon as this April in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

I was impressed with the accuracy and power of his hands. Roop was firing leg kicks and throwing leather, all the while, Hominick was stalking him--oblivious to Roop's attacks. Then BAM! Every punch Hominick punched seemed to connect with power.

I looks like he might give Aldo some real competition.

I am looking forward to the title fight.

Roop looked pretty good when the fight started. Then Mark went to work & it was over for George. Marks a perfect guy to fight under Tompkins.

It's gonna be something to see Mark stand with Aldo. Hopefully he can push the champ.

Yeah, Roop looked great as he flailed away doing no damage with no technique whatsoever while Hominick just locked on his target and took him out with crisp, technical punches in seconds.

Roop looked real good, keep thinking that.

Roop sucks- you could see this coming a mile away. He had sh*t luck against Zombie when he KO'd him.
