Mark Hominick finishes George Roop early in Round 1
Posted on January 22, 2011, 09:58 PM by Anton GurevichMark "The Machine" Hominick cleared the way to Jose Aldo with ease, after impressively knocking George Roop in the first round. Hominick's striking was laser-sharp, as the Canadian managed to connect with almost every punch he thrown at Roop. The referee stopped the contest at 1:28 seconds of Round 1, after Hominick connected with another combo, which sent Roop dazed down to the canvas.
It was Mark Hominick's 20th career victory, and his fifth consecutive inside the Octagon. The Machine is now 20-8, and is expected to face Jose Aldo as soon as this April in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Very Impressive!! look forward to his fight with Aldo... should be interesting!!
So happy that "the machine" is gonna be on T.O card. Yeah he's facing aldo, the "invincible" champion, but it's mma. Anything can happen.
I like Hominick, but i really don't see a way he can beat Aldo.
Mark Hominick,
Good job on your impressive win and good luck on facing Aldo.
I can see Hominick having a very good chance with Aldo.
I was impressed with the accuracy and power of his hands. Roop was firing leg kicks and throwing leather, all the while, Hominick was stalking him--oblivious to Roop's attacks. Then BAM! Every punch Hominick punched seemed to connect with power.
I looks like he might give Aldo some real competition.
I am looking forward to the title fight.
Hominick impressed me massively with his perfect striking, maybe we will see Aldo pushed for the first time
crisp striking by hominick. aldo vs hominick. WAR
He good but i think Aldo will beat him up
wow. I dont think that fight should have been stopped just yet but it probably didnt matter. Very impressive performance
Roop looked pretty good when the fight started. Then Mark went to work & it was over for George. Marks a perfect guy to fight under Tompkins.
It's gonna be something to see Mark stand with Aldo. Hopefully he can push the champ.
Yeah, Roop looked great as he flailed away doing no damage with no technique whatsoever while Hominick just locked on his target and took him out with crisp, technical punches in seconds.
Roop looked real good, keep thinking that.
Roop sucks- you could see this coming a mile away. He had sh*t luck against Zombie when he KO'd him.
