A lot of fighters don't know as much as they should. It'd probably behoove them to keep up with mma current events considering that's their life.

I find it hard to believe that in his long standing fighting career Chael has never tested positive before this incident if he legitimately supplements for low testosterone. Who knows tho... Either way, there are processes and procedures in place for that type of thing and Sonnen knows this. If it was a legitimate reason, he should of handled things appropriately.
Agreed. Even Dodds said that Chael should hae told them what he was taking when he was asked, or checked a box... it was something like that
It is not illegal to use steroids...you just need a legitimate reason and it has to be documented. In the end he messed up and it may have cost him his career.

When I first heard about it, I thought it was possibly something for his illness. Flu medication is a bit of a stretch, but I know that severe chest congestion can be treated with a type of steroids, typically inhalants.... but then I heard it was testosterone. Thats a different story all together.
If you don't it's still not illegal, it's just against the rules they have set out for their fighters, if you're a janitor no one gives a crap if you take steroids, but if it's something where physicality is the name of the game, more than likely their are rules against you using them.
Actually chocolat it is illegal. Anabolic steroids are ilegal to use without have a prescription for them and reason by a licensed physician

fact is Sonnen got suspended and there is a reason for it. what an idiot to talk that much shit towards arguably the best fighter in the world. you can speculate all you want and try to justify it, but he was suspended and they dont suspend fighters for no reason. end of story
