yeah completely agree with his opinion on fedor. he needs to beat werdum and overeem to be no.1 again. or come to the ufc, but we all know that will never happen..
to be fair i truly believe it's his management trying to protect his record, he is their number 1 fighter after all. i hate m-1 and that vadim finkel guy with a passion for what they've turned him into. i just don't get why fedor himself doesn't feel a need or desire to prove he's number one and fight the top guys.
U cant put the blame only on M1. Fedor is a grown man, he should make his own decisions otherwise, from ny personal point of view, I would say he got no persanlity and I will lose interest even if the guy is an amasing fighter!
Some people just work to get a check. I think Fedor's general mentality is that he is a fighter by trade and his record is only a fight history profile. He just happens to be really good at his trade.
true but if he'd have signed with the ufc he'd have been paid more than anyone else in the entire promotion, according to the ufc anyway. so i don't think it's about money. i think it's because he has a stake in M-1's shares and as part of the UFC deal they wanted co-promotional rights and some other stuff i'd heard was they wanted the UFC to sign some other M-1 fighters, so i think he's just overly loyal to his management and doesn't really care what people think of him, he said himself he doesn't wanna be an idol
Gray could have prepared a bit better for the interview. Its not like they asked him any unusual questions, just the common, standard, to-be-expected stuff. I mean, he surely has heard the comments and public opinion regarding the lack of excitement surrounding the match-up... Once they reach the level of main event or co-main event, they kind of owe it to not only themselves, but the promotion and even the media to help sell this thing. Not to say that every guy needs to trash talk or be over the top like Chael Sonnen, but c'mon... at least give a little more than 3 word responses and, dare I say, a tiny bit of excitement in your tone.
I seriously had to skip through the Gray Maynard interview, it was so awkward and boring. Him winning the belt would be a huge hit to the division. I hope Frankie beats him, or better yet Pettis annihilates him.
and another note, Bonnar has really stepped in his role behind the desk and ringside this past year. He used to be so stiff and awkward, no he sound like a real sports commentator.
